摘要: A semiconductor composition which comprises a soluble polyacene semiconductor and a polymeric semiconducting binder the binder having a permittivity greater than 3.4 at 000 Hz. The charge mobility of the semiconducting binder when measured in a pure state is greater than 10−7 cm2/Vs and more preferably greater than 10−6 cm2/Vs. Organic thin film transistors in which the source and drain electrodes are bridged by the semiconductor composition have desirable properties of reproducibility and charge mobility. The organic semiconducting composition can be applied by solution coating.

摘要: This invention comprises a semiconducting polymer having a permittivity greater than 3.4 at 1000 Hz and a charge mobility in the pure state greater than 10−7 cm2V−1s−1 and more preferably greater than 10−6 cm2V−1s−1. Preferred polymers include repeating units of triarylamines which have specific cyano and/or alkoxy substitution. They are suitable for use in electronic components such as organic thin film transistors.

摘要: A field effect transistor in which a continuous semiconductor layer comprises: a) an organic semiconductor; and, b) an organic binder which has an inherent conductivity of less than 10−6Scm−1 and a permittivity at 1,000 Hz of less than 3.3 and a process for its production comprising: coating a substrate with a liquid layer which comprises the organic semiconductor and a material capable of reacting to form the binder; and, converting the liquid layer to a solid layer comprising the semiconductor and the binder by reacting the material to form the binder.
