An apparatus and method for guaranteeing fairness among a plurality of subscribers in a subscriber network are provided. The apparatus includes: a packet classification unit which classifies a plurality of packets received via at least one physical port by the subscribers; and a packet processing unit which performs a scheduling operation on the classified packet according to output order of the subscribers. Accordingly, it is possible to guarantee a fair allocation of bandwidth to the subscribers, even when the subscriber network is expanded to have an arbitrary topology.

An apparatus for aggregating and switching traffic in a broadband subscriber network and methods of processing upstream and downstream traffic are provided. The apparatus includes: an upstream traffic processing unit which stores a plurality of packets received from a plurality of downlinks with respect to each subscriber link, and transmits the packets stored with respect to each subscriber link to uplinks through scheduling; and a downstream traffic processing unit which broadcasts a packet received from the uplinks to the subscriber links via a broadcast bus connected to the respective subscriber links and determines with respect to each subscriber link whether to transmit the packet to subscriber links. It is possible to efficiently aggregate, switch, and broadcast subscriber traffic in a broadband subscriber network in which upstream traffic and downstream traffic are asymmetric.

Provided are a data transceiver and method for performing equalization and pre-emphasis adaptive to the transmission characteristic of a transmitting part. The transceiver measures the signal attenuation characteristic of a transmission line of a receiving part using an input data signal input via the transmission line of the receiving part, decodes the distorted waveform of the input data signal, distorts the waveform of an output data signal beforehand using the measured signal attenuation characteristic of the transmission line of the receiving part, and transmits the output data signal via a transmission line of a transmitting part. Thus, when the output data signal is transmitted via the transmission line of the transmitting part, the waveform of the signal remains optimized.

The data recovering apparatus comprises a first phase alignment unit extracting from multi-phase clock signals a first clock having an edge most closely corresponding to the center of each bit of input data, a second phase alignment unit extracting from the multi-phase clock signals a second clock having an edge most closely corresponding to the center of each bit of the inverted form of the input data, an interpolated-clock signal generator generating an interpolated rising edge having a phase placed between the phases of rising edges of the first and second clocks, generating an interpolated falling edge having a phase placed between the phases of falling edges of the first and second clocks and generating a phase-interpolated clock signal having the interpolated rising edge and the interpolated falling edge when there is difference between the phases of the rising edges or the falling edges of the first and second clocks, and a data recovering unit retiming the input data based on the phase-interpolated clock signal so as to recover the input data.
