Abstract:
A method for controlling a normally closed relay includes: providing power to at least one of a first electromagnet and a second electromagnet via a power input port, then cause a first actuation member and a second actuation member to separate from each other, and the relay is then in an open state; and stopping providing power to the at lease one first electromagnet and the second electromagnet which being powered by the power input port such that the first actuation member and the second actuation member makes contact with each other, and the relay is then in a closed state.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a mobile phone for authenticating Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card and a SIM card authentication method adapted for the mobile phone. Once a SIM card is inserted into the mobile phone, the mobile phone acquires a phone number associated with the inserted SIM card and identifies whether the acquired phone number has been stored in the non-erasable programmable memory of the mobile phone. If yes, the user is legal and can use the mobile phone, if no, then the user is illegal and cannot use the mobile phone. Therefore, the mobile phone protects and hides stored information from the user.
Abstract:
A monitoring system for monitoring an area, includes an image capturing module, a storage unit, and a processor. The processor controls the image capturing module to capture images within the monitored area to obtain video signal as a series of frames, and compares every two neighboring frames to determine whether the neighboring frames are the similar according to a preset reference level, and stores one of the neighboring frames in the storage unit with the number of the stored frame increased by one if the neighboring frames is determined to be similar, and stores both the neighboring frames in the storage unit if the neighboring frames are determined to be different. A method for storing video obtained by the monitoring system is also provided.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes a dynamic memory, a static memory, a detection unit, a copy unit and a set unit. The dynamic memory stores an interrupt monitoring program. The interrupt monitoring program monitors whether an interrupt request is generated, and generates an interrupt signal when the interrupt request is generated. The detection unit detects whether the electronic device needs to enter a sleep mode, and generates a detection signal if the electronic device needs to enter the sleep mode. The copy unit copies the interrupt monitoring program from the dynamic memory to the static memory in response to the detection signal, and runs the interrupt monitoring program in the static memory for monitoring whether an interrupt signal is generated. The set unit sets the dynamic memory into a self-refresh mode in response to the detection signal.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a telecommunication system, a mobile phone and a calling method adapted for the telecommunication system. The telecommunication system includes a mobile phone connected to a wireless network and a wired phone connected to a wired network. The mobile phone and the wired phone communicate each other within a predetermined coverage area. When there is not a wired phone within the predetermined coverage area or there is a wired phone within the predetermined coverage area and the current state of the wired phone is busy, the mobile phone makes a call via the wireless network. If there is a wired phone within the predetermined coverage area and the current state of the wired phone is idle, the mobile phone sends a phone number to the wired phone, and the wired phone makes the call via the wired network.
Abstract:
An electronic device includes an input unit for generating control signals according to operations of a user, a power supply unit for supplying power to the electronic device, a first timer for measuring and signaling the end of a first time interval by outputting a first end signal, a second timer for measuring and signaling the end of a second time interval by outputting a second end signal, a notifier for generating a notice signal based on a notice file, and a controller. The controller is for restarting the first timer and disabling the second timer whenever receiving one of the control signals, restarting the second timer and enabling the notifier when receiving the first end signal, and disabling the power supply unit when receiving the second end signal. A related automatic turnoff method for automatically turning off an electronic device is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A master-slave system includes a master and a slave. The master includes a first communication interface, a master controller, and a voltage meter. The voltage meter is connected to the first communication interface and the master controller. The slave includes a second communication interface, an input unit, a slave controller, and a control indicator unit. The control indicator unit is connected to the second communication interface and the slave controller. The salve controller controls voltage of a node between the control indicator unit and the second communication interface to change between a high logic level and a low logic level according to signals from the input unit. The voltage meter is connected to the control indicator unit to detect the voltage of the node. The master controller controls the master to execute a function according to change of the obtained voltage within a preset period.
Abstract:
A method for measuring size of an object is provided. The method includes controlling a distance measurement unit to measure a vertical distance between an electronic device and the object in response to a measurement operation, controlling an image capturing unit to capture an image in front of the electronic device, which includes an image of the object in response to the measurement operation. Computing an actual size of the captured area according to the distance measured by the distance measurement unit and an angle of view of the image capturing unit. In addition, obtaining the image of the object from the captured image, and further computing the proportion of the image of the object in the captured image. Then computing the size of the object according to the proportion and the actual size of the captured area, and displaying the measured size of the object.
Abstract:
An electronic device with time update function includes a radio module, a clock module, an audio input port, a storage module, and a processing module. The radio module receives and outputs audible signals from the broadcasts of a broadcasting station. The audio input port receives audible sound generated by the radio module, and the clock module provides a source of real time. The processing module determines whether the signals received by the audio input port include current time information, and if so whether the system time is consistent with the current time information. The processing module updates the stored initial time with the current time information and adjusts the system time as necessary. A time update method is also provided.
