摘要: This invention relates to an UV stabilizing additive composition comprising an ortho-hydroxy triazine compound, a hindered hydroxybenzoate compound and optionally a hindered amine compound. This additive composition may be used to stabilize materials from UV radiation. This invention also contemplates a method of stabilizing a material by contacting the material with the UV stabilizing additive composition.

摘要: Osmo-adjusting solutes, particularly polyols and/or monosaccharides, are used to control the growth of plants. In particular, aqueous solutions of sorbitol or xylitol are used to reduce plant height and increase stem diameter. The solutions preferably include between about 0.05 and about 25 weight percent of the osmo-adjusting solute, and are applied to the root zone by drenching regularly or prior to transplanting. The solutions are also shown to be effective for conditioning plants for hardiness against certain environmental and handling stresses.

摘要: The present invention relates to a process for improving the shelf life of a hindered phenol antioxidant comprising the step of intimately mixing the hindered phenol antioxidant with a sulfur-containing peroxide decomposer. The inventors have discovered that mixing the peroxide decomposer with the hindered phenol antioxidant reduces the tendency of hindered phenols to yellow with age. This increases the desirability of the hindered phenol because it will not impart color to polymer systems. The present invention also relates to a composition produced from the process described above, and stabilized compositions and additive packages containing the composition produced from the above-described process.

摘要: A method for reducing plant water loss by closing stomatal openings and reducing the transpiration rate. In particular, a water loss reducing composition made of an osmo-adjusting solute such as sorbitol or xylitol is applied to plants. The solution is applied to the root zone by drenching regularly or prior to water deficiency, and preferably includes between about 0.5 and about 25 weight percent of the water loss reducing and conditioning agent.
