Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for reducing angular velocity of a vehicle using a gyroscope array. A method comprises dithering a gyroscope of the gyroscope array, obtaining current through a gimbal motor of the gyroscope while dithering the gyroscope, determining a gimbal rate command to reduce angular velocity of the vehicle based on the current through the gimbal motor obtained while dithering the gyroscope, and operating the gimbal motor of the gyroscope based on the gimbal rate command.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for controlling attitude of a vehicle using a reaction wheel onboard the vehicle. One exemplary method involves receiving a torque command for adjusting the attitude of the vehicle using the reaction wheel, determining a phase error of the reaction wheel based at least in part on the torque command, and determining a motor torque command for the reaction wheel based on the phase error. The motor torque command is provided to an electric motor of the reaction wheel to apply a corresponding torque to the rotor of the reaction wheel. The relationship between the magnitude of the motor torque command and the magnitude of the phase error is nonlinear. In exemplary embodiments, the magnitude of the motor torque command exceeds the stiction torque, at least instantaneously, when the reaction wheel has fallen behind an expected position by more than a threshold amount.

Abstract:
A single pin initiator including a header body forming an eyelet, a header lip surface and a connector shell. An initiator canister is connected to the header body and defines a first storage chamber, wherein a supply of initiation charge material is contained. A pin is positioned within the eyelet, with a pin head portion extending into the first storage chamber defined by the initiator canister. Electrical communication between the pin and the header body is provided by a bridgewire connected to the header body and preferably contacting a flat surface of the pin head portion. A supply of initiation pyrotechnic material is disposed on at least a portion of the bridgewire, and is in initiation communication with the supply of initiation charge material. Also disclosed is a passive restraint system assembly including the single pin initiator assembly of the present invention. The passive restraint system assembly includes a gas generant canister positioned over the initiator canister and securely connected to the header body, which defines a second storage chamber containing a supply of gas generant material.
Abstract:
An airfoil member (14) includes a geometric morphing device (18). The geometric morphing device (18) has an inflatable member (30). The inflatable member (30) has an exterior wall (32) and multiple inflated states. The exterior wall (32) includes a layer with one or more fibers embedded therein. The exterior wall (32) controls size, shape, and expansion ability of the geometric morphing device (18).
Abstract:
The present invention provides certain 6-hetarylalkyloxy pyrimidine derivatives of formula II ##STR1## wherein R is (i) a cyclic group having at least one 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, optionally with a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring fused thereto, the or each heterocyclic ring having at least one hetero atom chosen from O, N, or S, or a substituted derivative thereof; or (ii) phenyl or a substituted derivative thereof,R.sup.2 is selected from H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, halogen or NH.sub.2,R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 which are the same or different are selected from H, NH.sub.2 or NO.sub.n where n=1 or 2, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 together with the pyrimidine ring form a 5- or 6-membered ring structure containing one or more heterocyclic atoms, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, exhibit the ability to deplete O.sup.6 -alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase (ATase) activity.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments include methods and systems for providing a real-time application programming interface for merchant enrollment and underwriting. In one embodiment, a process is disclosed that may include receiving, from a first computing device, a request for applying for the merchant financial account for a merchant applicant. The request may also include verifying the information associated with the merchant applicant and providing, via the first computing device, at least one question with a plurality of answer choices to the merchant applicant if the merchant applicant information associated with the applicant is verified. In one aspect, the method may include receiving an answer choice to the at least one question from the merchant applicant via the first computing device and validating the received answer choice. If the answer choice is validated, the method may include activating the first computing device and authenticating the merchant applicant for the merchant financial account.
Abstract:
A studio tool for working stock includes an upper housing, a lower housing, a viewfinder, a viewfinder cover, an alignment tool, and a pressure column. The upper housing and the lower housing are slidably connected so as to at least partially contain the alignment tool and pressure column. A main spring and lower springs may be used to bias the column blade.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a new and distinct cultivar of raspberry plant named ‘Driscoll Estrella’. The new cultivar is distinguished from other raspberry cultivars by its yellow fruit color, fruit firmness, consistent fruit structure and high yield. The new cultivar is distinguished from its pollen parent by producing a higher yield of larger, firmer fruit with a brighter yellow color.
