摘要: Examples of techniques for monitoring and controlling the pH of a drilling fluid are disclosed. In one example implementation, a system may include a first sensor to sense a first pH-value and an associated first temperature of the drilling fluid prior to being heated by a drilling fluid heater and a second sensor to sense a second pH-value and an associated second temperature of the drilling fluid subsequent to being heated by the drilling fluid heater. The system may also include a controller comprising a memory having computer readable instructions and a processing device for executing the computer readable instructions. The computer readable instructions include receiving the first pH-value and first temperature from the first sensor, receiving the second pH-value and second temperature from the second sensor, and determining an amount of additive to add to the drilling fluid to maintain a desired pH-value at the second temperature.

摘要: Moisture separation systems and condensation devices for gas extracted from drilling fluids while drilling are provided. The condensation devices include a body having a first end and a second end and an exterior wall defining an interior surface, an interior passage providing a connection from the first end to the second end, and an angled support path within the interior passage, the angled support path extending from the interior surface and angled with respect to gravity. The angled support path is configured to direct a condensate away from the interior surface by the operation of gravity.

摘要: Systems and methods for determining fluid rheological characteristics of a fluid used in a subsurface operation are provided. The methods include measuring temperature, pressure, and at least one of a flow rate and a flow velocity of the fluid in a first fluid circuit. A model is based on the temperature, the pressures, and the flow rate or flow velocity. The fluid rheological characteristic of the fluid in a second fluid circuit is determined by measuring a temperature and flow rate and/or flow velocity in the second fluid circuit. The rheological characteristic of the fluid is calculated based on the model employing the temperature and the flow rate/flow velocity of the second fluid circuit.

摘要: A mechanism for pressurized delivery of material into a well without exposure to a high pressure pump. The mechanism may include material delivery equipment that is coupled to the high pressure pump or other pressure inducing equipment through a material carrier that intersects a fluid line from the pump. The material carrier may include chambers that are reciprocated or rotated between positions that are isolated from the fluid line and in communication with the fluid line. While isolated from the fluid line, the chambers may be filled with oilfield material which may then be delivered to the fluid line when positioned in communication therewith. In this manner, a supply of the oilfield material may be retained in a substantially isolated state relative to the pump and components thereof which may be susceptible to damage from exposure to the oilfield material.

摘要: An oilfield pump employing a linear electric motor. The linear electric motor replaces a conventional crankshaft or hydraulic techniques for driving a plunger of the pump. This may reduce the number of equipment parts and amount of maintenance expenses associated with the operation of oilfield pumps. Furthermore, the use of a linear electric motor may also increase the precision and control over the fluid delivery provided by the pump assembly.
