    摘要: A packer assembly has an inner expandable packer. An outer layer having sealing bodies may be disposed about and/or positioned on the outer surface of the inner expandable packer member. Each of the sealing bodies may have an elastomeric body, and one or more flowlines may be embedded in the elastomeric body of each of the sealing bodies. The sealing bodies may be located in grooves in the inner expendable packer member. The sealing bodies may contact a surrounding casing or a surrounding formation to form an annular seal; in an embodiment, the sealing bodies and the inner expandable packer member may contact a surrounding casing or a surrounding formation to form an annular seal. The sealing bodies may be non-integral with each other and/or separable from each other.

    摘要: In an embodiment, a method of operating at least one pressure vessel to inject a particulate slurry into a high-pressure line, comprises a first operating cycle comprising: isolating the at least one pressure vessel from the high-pressure line; introducing particulate solids into the pressure vessel through a particulate solids inlet aperture; a second operating cycle comprising: providing high-pressure flow into the pressure vessel; and providing a high-pressure slurry flow from the pressure vessel into the high-pressure line. The method further comprises operating the at least one pressure vessel in the second operating cycle to create a heterogeneous flow of slurry into the high-pressure line.

    摘要: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for preparing wellbore viscous treatment gels from dry polymer and water. The apparatus includes an eductor which slurries dry polymer with water, at least two input tubes, wherein one input tube is connected with the eductor, and another to a water source. The apparatus also includes a mixing chimney connected to the input tubes. The mixing chimney includes a lower input section with inlets connected to the input tubes wherein a jet of metered dilution water is applied at high pressure to the incoming polymer-water slurry stream. This mixture is then accelerated in a circular, and preferably upward, motion where it is sheared against the wall of a central section of the chimney, without the use of an impeller. The chimney further includes an output section that comprising holes circumferentially located, through which the mixture passes from the central section and into a hydration tank. The mixture exiting the chimney is polymer-water gel which is essentially fully mixed and de-aerated, and at least partially hydrated.

    摘要: This invention relates to compositions used in treating subterranean formations, which include a hydrated polymer, and a dry blended multi-functional component. The hydrated polymer and dry blended multi-functional component are mixed at the ground surface of a wellsite, and subsequently injected into the formation providing controlled delay in crosslinking to achieve targeted fluid viscosity properties. The hydrated polymer may be a guar, hydroxypropyl guar, carboxymethyl guar, carboxymethylhydroxypropyl guar, synthetic polymers, and guar-containing compounds. The dry blended multi-functional component may include a crosslinker and a chelating agent, and the well treatment fluid may further include an activator mixed with the hydratable polymer. The chelating agent may be a polyols, gluconate, sorbitol, mannitol, carbonate, or any mixtures thereof. The crosslinker may be any source of boron, alkaline earth metal borates, alkali metal borates, zirconium compounds, titanium compounds, or any combination thereof, while the activator may be a caustic soda or magnesium oxide compound. The invention further provides methods for producing a well treatment composition including providing a hydrated polymer, and providing a dry blended multi-functional component. Also, methods of hydraulically fracturing a subterranean formation, as well as cleanup operations and gravel packing a wellbore are provided as well.

    摘要: An aeration system for circulating an aerating fluid through a chemical composition within a container. The aeration system is closed-loop such that the aeration fluid is supplied by a fluid supply system to the interior of a container to aerate the chemical composition therein. The aeration fluid is returned to the fluid supply system for subsequent redelivery to the container. A filtering mechanism may be employed to remove large particulate matter from the aeration fluid prior to flowing back to the fluid supply system. The aeration process improves the flowability of the chemical composition thus facilitating the transferring and/or discharging of the chemical composition from the container. The aeration process may occur during transport, prior to discharging, and/or during a discharging or transferring operation.
