摘要: A fluid flow stabilizing method and a pump having a stabilized fluid flow passage where a process fluid contains suspended solid particles and is subject to pressure oscillations. The method comprises positioning an expandable membrane along the lower transverse surface, inflating the membrane with a compressible fluid, and alternatingly expanding and contracting the membrane to dampen the pressure oscillations and inhibit settling of the solid particles at the lower transverse surface. The pump comprises a stabilizer comprising a compressible fluid in an expandable membrane elongated along the lower transverse surface of a manifold in fluid communication with the fluid end. Another method comprises reciprocating a plunger in the pump to pass a slurry through the manifold, and alternatingly expanding and contracting a stabilizer in the manifold.

摘要: A positive displacement pump having a valve with an actuation guide for assisting its actuation. The valve may be configured for controlling fluid communication relative to a chamber of the pump with the valve actuation guide positioned external to the chamber and configured to assist in the controlling. The valve actuation guide itself may include an arm extending into a valve actuation assembly below the valve. In such embodiments, the arm may be reciprocated by crankshaft, hydraulic, or other means. Alternatively, the valve actuation assembly may include electromagnetic means for assisting in actuation of the valve.

An inventory of pump components has an identifier to track the pump component and a sensor to gather operating data associated with the pump component. A population of pumps is assembled from the pump components. The operating data are correlated with the pump components based on the identifiers in a network-accessible database. The pump components can include interchangeable pump body modules that are separately tracked, whereby the pumps can be repaired by removing and replacing the interchangeable pump body modules.

摘要: A system for changing a pump displacement configuration includes a blender that provides low-pressure fluid to a pump. The pump has a power end and fluid end, where the fluid end includes a number of plungers. The system includes an actuator that couples the power end with a selectable subset of the plungers. The system further includes a controller that selects a subset of the plungers according to a job pumping rate, a job pumping pressure, and/or a fluid end failure event indicator. The controller further commands the actuator to couple the selected subset of the plungers to the power end.

摘要: In an embodiment, a method of operating at least one pressure vessel to inject a particulate slurry into a high-pressure line, comprises a first operating cycle comprising: isolating the at least one pressure vessel from the high-pressure line; introducing particulate solids into the pressure vessel through a particulate solids inlet aperture; a second operating cycle comprising: providing high-pressure flow into the pressure vessel; and providing a high-pressure slurry flow from the pressure vessel into the high-pressure line. The method further comprises operating the at least one pressure vessel in the second operating cycle to create a heterogeneous flow of slurry into the high-pressure line.

摘要: A mechanism for pressurized delivery of material into a well without exposure to a high pressure pump. The mechanism may include material delivery equipment that is coupled to the high pressure pump or other pressure inducing equipment through a material carrier that intersects a fluid line from the pump. The material carrier may include chambers that are reciprocated or rotated between positions that are isolated from the fluid line and in communication with the fluid line. While isolated from the fluid line, the chambers may be filled with oilfield material which may then be delivered to the fluid line when positioned in communication therewith. In this manner, a supply of the oilfield material may be retained in a substantially isolated state relative to the pump and components thereof which may be susceptible to damage from exposure to the oilfield material.
