Abstract:
An aphron-containing fracturing fluid containing a polar fluid; a gas; a hydrocarbon fluid; a viscosifier; and a surfactant and methods for preparing the aphron-containing fracturing fluid.
Abstract:
A method of simultaneously injecting a proppant and an acidic well treatment fluid into a subterranean formation is described. The method includes pumping the acidic fluid into the formation while simultaneously pumping a slurry of the proppant in a carrier fluid containing one or more friction reducing agents. The acidic fluid stream and the proppant slurry stream mix before entering the formation and are pumped at approximately equal rates. Also described is a system for simultaneously pumping the acidic fluid and the proppant slurry into the formation.
Abstract:
A method of simultaneously injecting a proppant and an acidic well treatment fluid into a subterranean formation is described. The method includes pumping the acidic fluid into the formation at a high rate while simultaneously pumping a slurry containing a high concentration of proppant at a lower rate. Also described is a system for simultaneously pumping the acidic fluid and the proppant slurry into the formation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed herein that include providing a service life monitoring system that includes a rotatable component and a rotatable measurement interface disposed on the rotatable component, the rotatable measurement interface having at least one torsional strain gauge configured to measure a strain of the rotatable component, a strain monitor controller configured to receive the measured strain of the rotatable component, and a wireless data transmission component configured to wirelessly communicate with the strain monitor controller to receive the measured strain, determine at least one of a power, rotational speed, torque, and service life of the rotatable component in response to receiving the measured strain of the rotatable component as a result of the measured strain of the rotatable component, and control at least one of the power, the rotational speed, and the torque of the rotatable component.
Abstract:
The present application is directed to an aqueous composition made up of an alkali metal silicate; a hardener containing at least one dibasic ester, at least one nonionic surfactant, at least one terpene or terpene derivative and optionally at least one polyalkylene glycol; and a retarder. The composition is useful for reducing the permeability in a subterranean formation, so as to reduce or prevent water flow and circulation loss of well fluids such as drilling fluids or cement.
Abstract:
Described is an additive composition made up of at least one dibasic ester, at least one non-ionic surfactant, at least one terpene or terpene derivative and optionally, at least one polyalkylene glycol and/or water. The composition is useful as an additive for well treatment fluids used for cleaning or stimulation of oil or gas wells.
Abstract:
Described is a slickwater fracturing fluid containing base water having up to 300,000 ppm total dissolved solids; a viscosifier; a scale inhibitor; and a surfactant composition. The surfactant composition contains at least one dibasic ester, at least one non-ionic surfactant, at least one terpene or terpene derivative and optionally at least one polyalkylene glycol.
Abstract:
The invention describes improved environmentally friendly, non-toxic, CBM friendly, green fracturing compositions, methods of preparing fracturing compositions and methods of use. Importantly, the subject invention overcomes problems in the use of water-based mists as an effective fracturing composition particularly having regard to the ability of a mist to transport an effective volume of proppant into a formation. As a result, the subject technologies provide an effective economic solution to using high ratio gas fracturing compositions that can be produced in a continuous (i.e. non-batch) process without the attendant capital and operating costs of current pure gas fracturing equipment.
