Abstract:
Apparatus for attaching wooden structural members together in end-to-end relation using nail plates, in which the members are moved continuously through a fastening station. A carriage, located at the station, is clamped to one of the wooden members and a floating press carried by the carriage is actuated to embed the nail plates into opposite sides of adjoining members during movement of the carriage along with the members. Following the embedding operation, the carriage is released and spring returned to an initial position.
Abstract:
A DEVICE FOR GENERATING ELECTRICAL SINE AND COSINE FUNCTION SIGNALS CORRESPONDING TO THE ANGLE OF MOVEMENT OF A ROTATABLE INPUT SHAFT WHEREIN A SPINDLE IS FORMED INTEGRAL WITH ONE END OF THE SHAFT AND AT AN ACUTE ANGLE THERETO. THE SPINDLE ROTATABLY SUPPORTS A BRUSH CARRIER CARRYING TWO WIPER BRUSHES LOCATED AT 90 DEGREES TO EACH OTHER. THE BRUSHES WIPE ALONG RESPECTIVE ONES OF A PAIR OF LINEARLY WOUND POTENTIOMETER WINDINGS TO PRODUCE OUTPUT SIGNALS WHICH ARE 90 DEGREES OUT OF PHASE WITH EACH OTHER.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic servounit comprising two drive units connectable through a speed reducing unit to an output shaft, each drive unit comprising telescoped magnetic drive and driven members with an air gap therebetween and energizing coils for selectively setting up a magnetic flux path across the air gap of each unit whereby the output shaft is driven solely by either drive unit or jointly at a speed and torque proportional to control signals applied to both drive units.
