Abstract:
A method of managing pre-dedicated funds allows the user to purchase, distribute, and manage gift cards. The method allows companies to provide discounts and promotions to gift card users. A plurality of user accounts is managed by at least one remote server, wherein each user account is associated with a corresponding user personal computer (PC) device. The plurality of user accounts allows each user of the present invention to interact with each other through the at least one remote server in order to manage gift cards. The at least one remote server accepts wireless electronic inputs and returns appropriate electronic outputs. The corresponding PC device is any computer, laptop, smartphone, or other such internet-enabled device that allows the plurality of users to connect to the at least one remote server. This arrangement enables each user to interact with the at least one remote server using the corresponding PC device.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for growing photosynthetic organisms lacking Photosystem II (PSII) function using externally supplied electrons shuttled into the organism using redox mediators to improve photosynthetic output and to produce and recover chemicals of interest. By removing PRI, all PAR photons are funneled toward Photosystem I, thereby significantly increasing the theoretical photon utilization efficiency for CO2 fixation, energy storage and the capacity to synthesize valuable chemicals. Additional genetic modification can be performed to insert or enhance specific metabolic pathways to generate products of commercial interest.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed toward membrane biofilm reactors primarily comprising microorganisms that produce chemical fuel products or precursors thereof. Reactors of the present disclosure can primarily comprise acetogens, a methanotrophs, and/or Methanosarcina acetivorans.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for providing a transportation marketplace are provided. A transportation server receives, from a client device of a user, a request for a transportation service. The transportation server determines a set of drivers in response to the request, the set of drivers further being available to provide the transportation service when the request is received. The transportation server provides the set of drivers to the client device, wherein each driver within the set of drivers is selectable by the user of the client device.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and compositions for growing high density cultures of dechlorinating microorganisms, such as the bacteria Dehalococcoides. Dechlorinating cultures are grown in continuous flow stirred-tank reactors at short hydraulic retention time, resulting in improved batch production. For some cultures, a culture medium including chlorine containing compounds, bicarbonate, and HEPES utilized.
