摘要: A method and apparatus for measuring the transfer efficiency during the electrostatic spraying of a coating material (e.g. powder coating) is provided. The transfer efficiency can be measured during the test cycle rather than measuring an average transfer efficiency for an electrostatic spray cycle. A cycle may include the initial time when the substrate is "uncoated or clean" and an end point of the test when electrical insulating effects caused by accumulated powder on the substrate lead to a reduction in the transfer efficiency. The method uses computer based calculation software and a computer. The computer is connected to load cells that measure weight changes of a target substrate and a vessel containing the coating material to be sprayed.

摘要: A process for producing a powder coating composition having powder particles wherein at least 50% of the particles are of a size between 3 and 5 microns and 100% of the particles are of a size .ltoreq.10 microns. The process includes the steps of preparing a powder coating extrudate, reducing the extrudate to flake, jet milling the powder coating to a powder wherein at least 50% of the particles are a particle size of between 3 and 5 microns and 100% of the particles are of a size less than or equal to 10 microns, and adding the powder to a mixture of water and surfactant. Dispersant and rheology control agents are then added to the mixture.

摘要: After the tube portion to be removed is severed from the remainder of the U-tube and its weld to the header is machined off, the internal surface of the portion is engaged internally by an ID gripper and pulled out of the header. Then the external surface is engaged by an OD gripper and pulled further out of the header. The first tube length is pulled out as far as the space under the header permits and is then cut off. Successive lengths are likewise pulled out and cut off.The apparatus for accomplishing this object includes a base secured to the header by expanded mandrel mechanisms. A carriage is suspended from the base on screws which are driven by a motor to move the carriage away from and towards the base. An OD gripper assembly is suspended from the carriage and is movable by fluoroactuated piston rods away from and towards the carriage. An ID gripper assembly extends through the OD gripper assembly. The gripper of the ID assembly is actuable to engage the internal surface of the tube portion. With its gripper so engaged the ID assembly is engaged by the gripper of the OD assembly and the engaged tube portion is pulled out of the header by the OD assembly. The ID gripper is then disengaged and the OD gripper is engaged with the tube portion in the same way that it engages the ID assembly and the tube portion is pulled out further. The apparatus also includes a tube cutter having an abrasive wheel. The wheel cuts the lengths of the tube portion at an angle so that for examination and testing the tube lengths can be matched and the orientation of any defect with respect to the plate in the steam generator which separates the inlet and outlet ends of the tubes and the U-tube supports can be identified.

摘要: The irradiation specimen installation apparatus comprises a gripper mechanism capable of being disposed through a hole in the nuclear reactor core barrel flange and capable of gripping the irradiation specimen. The apparatus is also capable of transporting the irradiation specimen so that the irradiation specimen can be deposited in the specimen container. The apparatus also comprises a visual verification mechanism for positively determining if the irradiation specimen has been properly located in the specimen container. A second instrument may be used in conjunction with this apparatus for seating the irradiation specimen in the specimen container once visual verification of its location has been made.
