摘要： An improved astragal assembly for use with a double door installation includes an astragal strip secured along the vertical edge of the inactive door. A lock block is slidably disposed in at least one end of said astragal strip and can be moved between an extended position for securing the door and a retracted position for freeing the door. The lock block has a projecting bolt receivable in a receptacle in the door frame when the lock block is slid to its extended position. A gasket is secured to the end of the lock block and the bolt passes through an opening in the gasket. The gasket engages and seals against the door frame when the lock block is in its extended position. Gaskets are also provided on the sides of the lock block for engaging and sealing against the doors of the double door installation. When the doors are closed and secured in place, the lock block and gasket assembly prevents drafts from flowing under the door installation beneath the astragal thereof.

摘要： A continuous sidelight threshold and door sill assembly for use with entryways having at least one fixed sidelight panel and a hinged door panel comprises an extruded aluminum frame having an elongated channel and a sloped sill. A vertically adjustable threshold cap is shorter than the channel is configured to fit in and be selectively positioned at a predetermined location along the channel. A separate panel cap is also configured to fit in the channel and be selectively positioned therealong. The assembly is universally adaptable to be used either with left handed, right handed, or double sided sidelight door entryways simply by positioning the threshold cap and the panel cap at respective appropriate locations along the channel. A removable paint shield is provided to protect the threshold and sill assembly from paint and damage during construction of a building in which the assembly is installed. Also, the threshold and sidelight caps preferably are formed from extruded plastic material and can be easily cut and fitted to virtually any entryway configuration.

摘要： A rollable baffled ridge vent has a top panel with a laterally flexible central portion and edges. Substantially flat wind baffles are supported outboard of the edges and each wind baffle is formed by an array of aligned coextensive rectangular baffle sections. Each baffle section is supported by a pair of buttresses that project from beneath the top panel. Some of the buttresses also extend inwardly toward the central portion of the panel to form supports for supporting the ridge vent on a roof. The ridge vent can be fabricated in roof length sections that can be rolled into rolls with the baffle sections splaying with respect to each other to provide rollability. For installation, the ridge vent is rolled out along the open ridge of a roof and attached with nails. Superior ventilation is provided by the high net free area and flat wind baffle design of the vent while preserving the convenience of a rollable product.

摘要： An improved thermoplastic door jamb comprises a blown thermoplastic core encased in a non-blown thermoplastic skin. A pair of aluminum reinforcing members are embedded in the thermoplastic core and are positioned and configured to receive fasteners for securing case molding and brick molding to the inside and outside edges of the jamb respectively. 摘要： An improved foundation vent with increased net free area is provided. The foundation vent has a frame that surrounds and defines an opening and a grill supported by the frame and spanning the opening. The grill has an inside face disposed on the inside of a crawlspace when the vent is mounted in a foundation wall and an outside face disposed on the outside of the crawlspace. A mesh screen is mounted to the frame and spans the opening adjacent the inside face of the grill. The grill is provided with projecting standoffs that support the screen at a predetermined distance from the inside face of the grill to form a plenum between the screen and the grill. A raised peripheral rim is provided on the frame and supports the peripheral portion of the screen. The spacing of the screen from the inside face of the grill and the plenum formed thereby unblocks the portions of the screen that otherwise would be blocked by the members of the grill and thus increases the net free area of the foundation vent.

摘要： This disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for manufacturing zinc coated steel tubing from zinc coated steel strip. The zinc lost by volatilization during welding of the seam is replaced in a two-stage metallizing process. In the first stage an aluminum alloy is spray atomized onto the tubing. The alloy contains from 0.45 to 0.95 weight percent iron, no more than 0.10 weight percent silicon, and the remainder aluminum with associated trace elements. Thereafter, in the second stage, zinc is spray atomized over the aluminum alloy-coated substrate.
