    Abstract: An image compression method for compressing groups of pixel data, including the following steps: MSB portions and LSB portions of the pixel data are compressed separately. Further, the LSB portions are grouped according to their associated MSB portions so that similar pixels are compressed together to gain higher a compression ratio. Some LSB portions are truncated to ensure a compression ratio. When performing compression, enhanced variable-length coding is adopted that predicts more accurate dividers by considering weighted combination of adjacent pixels. The quotient of each groups of compression portion is predicted and coded accordingly.

    Abstract: The present invention provides method of image and audio data compression. Filtering and down sampling means are firstly applied to reduce data of samples. The selected data samples are firstly compressed by means of ADPCM. The error between the original and the ADPCM coded data stream are calculated and compared to at least one predetermined value to determine the means of correction. Discrete Cosine Transform is applied to compress error data between the original and the ADPCM coded data stream. The DCT coefficients of error are inserted into the ADPCM data stream for correction.

    Abstract: A method is used to make a nanometer enhanced thermo-durable thermosetting polyester material. The method includes the steps of providing prepolymeric viscous liquid and curing the prepolymeric viscous liquid. The prepolymeric viscous liquid includes: a polyester prepolymer that includes an unsaturated vinyl group of low molecular weight, a functional polyester oligomer that includes an unsaturated vinyl group, a polyester prepolymer that includes an unsaturated vinyl group associated with layered silicates, and a polymerizable monomer that includes a vinyl group. To cure the prepolymeric viscous liquid, a catalyst and an accelerator are used. Thus, there is provided a highly cross-linked three-dimensional thermosetting polyester/layered silicate nanometer material.
