    摘要: A 2D/3D image switching type liquid crystal display is described. The 2D/3D image switching type liquid crystal display includes a liquid crystal display (LCD), a film-type patterned retarder (FPR) and a liquid crystal barrier layer. When either the FPR is disposed between the LCD panel and the liquid crystal barrier layer or liquid crystal barrier layer is disposed between the LCD panel and the backlight module, an electrical field controls the first grating regions and the second grating regions to form a bright region and a dark region for adjusting the left-hand circularly polarized light and the right-hand circularly polarized light from the FPR to switch 2D/3D image by switching the liquid crystal barrier layer.

    摘要: The present invention discloses an electro-phoretic display and display method thereof. The method comprises: To form a first electric field so that reflective particles in electro-phoretic layer in an area corresponding to a color resist for display have a first distance from the color substrate. Light incident to the reflective particles partly or completely emerges from the electro-phoretic layer after being reflected by them when the distance is the first distance. To form at least one second electric field in an area corresponding to color resists not for display so that the reflective particles in the electro-phoretic layer in that area have a second distance from the color substrate. Light incident into the electro-phoretic layer is absorbed by the light absorbing liquid when the distance is the second distance. The color resist for display is the one used for displaying a color intended to be displayed by the electro-phoretic display.

    摘要: A polarizer film is used for converting polarized light from a backlight module into light along a first direction. Multiple electrodes are disposed on a transparent substrate. Each electrode extends along a second direction different from the first direction. An alignment of liquid crystal molecules varies according to voltage applied on the electrodes. A retard unit is disposed between the transparent substrate and the polarizer film and used for converting the polarized light into light along a third direction different from the first and second direction. A polarization direction of the emitted light is perpendicular to an alignment of an electrode layer. In this way, an optical axis of the liquid crystal molecules matches the polarization direction of the light from the retard unit when voltage is not applied. So, the maximal lens power is attained with decreasing the cost resulted from the decreased thickness of the liquid crystal layer.

    摘要: An auto-stereoscopic display device is proposed. The auto-stereoscopic display device includes a display panel and a liquid crystal lens. The liquid crystal lens includes a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The first electrode layer includes a plurality of first electrode stripes arranged in parallel along pixel units and extending in a first or second direction. The second electrode layer includes a plurality of second electrode stripes extending slantingly relative to the plurality of first electrode stripes and being arranged in parallel. A liquid crystal lens and a driving method thereof are also proposed. Based on the present invention, a first lenticular lens unit is generated and arranged along the plurality of second electrode stripes for the 3D display mode, and a second lenticular lens unit is generated and arranged along the plurality of first electrode stripes for the 2D display mode. The invention can fulfill the 3D-mode requirement and enhance brightness and luminance in the 2D mode.
