    摘要: The present invention relates to a novel class of aminopyridine derivatives with the general formula: wherein R1; R2, R3, and R4 are each independently hydrogen, an alkyl group, —(O—CH2—CH2)n-OH wherein n is an integer from 0 to 8, —CH2—(O—CH2—CH2)n-OH wherein n is an integer from 0 to 8, an hydroxyalkyl group, an aminoalkyl group where the nitrogen can be part of a 5 or 6 ring membered cycle, an alkylene group containing quaternary ammonium, a carboxylic acid and/or a salt thereof, or a sulphonic acid and/or a salt thereof, preferably R1; R2, R3, and R4 are each hydrogen. The compounds are useful for removal of hydrogen sulfide and other impurities from fluid streams containing hydrogen sulfide, including selective removal from such streams which also contain carbon dioxide. Examples of the fluid stream include a gas stream, for example natural gas, synthesis gas, tail gas, refinery gas, or from liquid streams such as liquid or liquefied hydrocarbons, for example Liquefied Petroleum Gas or Natural Gas Liquids.

    摘要: There is described a process for reducing the concentration of formate based heat stable salts formed in a physical solvent acid gas absorption process (12) wherein acid gas contaminants such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide are removed from gas mixtures (30) which include these contaminants. The process comprises the step of contacting the physical solvent containing formate based heat stable salts (46) with a metallic and/or organometallic catalyst (52), preferably the catalyst comprises palladium, zinc, platinum, nickel, or rhodium, and/or salts thereof and/or oxides thereof. The process is particularly suited for physical solvents such as refrigerated methanol, dialkyl ethers of polyethylene glycols, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidones, propylene carbonate, blends of N-acetylmorpholine and N-formylmor-pholine, 1,3-dimethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2(1H)-pyrimidinone, and the like and particularly gas mixtures containing ammonia as a contaminant.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an improved process for making mono- and di-alkoxylated piperazine compounds especially dihydroxyethylpiperazine. The improvement comprises the addition of an acid to the piperazine compound prior to the addition of an alkylene oxide to a reactor wherein the alkoxylated piperazine compound is prepared. Said improvement reduces the concentration of undesirable glycol ether byproducts which contribute undesirable color and foaming of the alkoxylated piperazine compounds.
