Abstract: Absorption of one or more acid gases from a gas stream may take place using diglycolamine as an absorbent. Methods for processing the absorbent after acid gas absorption may comprise: obtaining an at least partially spent aqueous amine solution from an absorber tower; removing at least a portion of the one or more acid gases from the at least partially spent aqueous amine solution in a regeneration tower to form an at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution comprising diglycolamine and bis-(2-hydroxyethoxyethyl)urea; and introducing at least a first portion of the at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution to a reclaimer under thermal conditions effective to revert at least a majority of the bis-(2-hydroxyethoxyethyl) urea to diglycolamine. The reclaimer is heated with a steam input that is in indirect contact with the at least partially regenerated aqueous amine solution and cooled with at least a diglycolamine stream.

Abstract: An air purification and recirculation system positioned within an animal rearing/sheltering facility. The system draws untreated air into an elongated air treatment apparatus having a dust scrubbing section, an ammonia scrubbing section, and acid scrubbing section, configured so that the treatment sections are positioned in series. At the end of the air treatment process, the treated air is exhausted back into the animal rearing facility so that the air is circulated within the facility. Acid and water used during the air treatment process are continuously recycled and directed back through the scrubbers in the air treatment apparatus.

Abstract: Novel methods for pretreating a rare-gas-containing stream exiting an etch chamber followed by recovering the rare gas from the pre-treated, rare-gas containing stream are disclosed. More particularly, the invention relates to the pretreatment and recovery of a rare gas, such as xenon or krypton, from a nitrogen-based exhaust stream with specific gaseous impurities generated during an etch process that is performed as part of a semiconductor fabrication process.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for producing oil and gas in a plant while removing hydrogen sulfide and water from fluids produced from oil and gas reservoirs and injecting a sour gas stream containing the hydrogen sulfide into an underground formation. Water-selective membranes are used to debottleneck known systems and methods by removing water from bottlenecked sections of the plant including pretreatment of a sour gas feed to one or more gas processing plants. In other aspects, water-selective membranes are used to debottleneck the pretreatment of an acid gas feed to a Claus unit to convert hydrogen sulfide to sulfur in a gas processing plant. The water-selective membranes pretreat the acid gas feed.

Abstract: A class of water lean, organic solvents that can bind with various acid gasses to form acid gas bound molecules having a high degree of intramolecular hydrogen bonding which enables their use as regenerable solvents for acid gas capture. Unlike the other devices described in the prior art, the present invention takes advantage of shortened distances between the portions of the molecule that form hydrogen bonds within the structures when loaded with an acid gas so as to create a molecule with a higher internal bonding affinity and a reduced proclivity for agglomeration with other molecules.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for separating a target substance from a fluid or mixture. Capsules having a coating and stripping solvents encapsulated in the capsules are provided. The coating is permeable to the target substance. The capsules having a coating and stripping solvents encapsulated in the capsules are exposed to the fluid or mixture. The target substance migrates through the coating and is taken up by the stripping solvents. The target substance is separated from the fluid or mixture by driving off the target substance from the capsules.
