    摘要: Thiol compounds are employed in conjunction with compounds which modulate self proliferation, both as to plants and mammals. The thiol compounds find effect in enhancing the effectiveness of auxin like compounds, either as herbicides or in enhancing root formation. In addition, thiol compounds act in conjunction with cytotoxic agents in mammals to allow for lower dosages of the cytotoxic agents while retaining the cytotoxic effect against hyperproliferative diseases, such as cancer. The combination finds particular effect against cells dependent upon an isoform of a surface membrane NADH oxidase for proliferation.

    摘要: In humans and experimental animals, serum levels of sialic acid-containing glycolipids are elevated 1.5 to 3 fold. A method is described whereby the ganglioside content is estimated on as little as 0.5 ml of serum or plasma. The procedure permits, based on the analysis of a single biochemical parameter, cancer detection applicable to a wide range of human and animal tumor types.

    摘要: Described are cell surface and circulating markers for aging related disorders (specific isoforms of NADH oxidase (arNOX)). Recombinant age-related NADH oxidase isoforms and their coding sequences and methods for detecting arNOX isoform presence and quantitation in tissues and in blood, sera, urine, saliva, perspiration and in other body fluids, are provided. Recombinant arNOX proteins are useful in preparing antigens for use in the generation of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies as well as immunogenic compositions for diagnosis and treatment of aging disorders. DNA probes based on the DNA sequence information provide may be used to identify individuals at risk for aging disorders and for development of therapeutic interventions or anti-aging cosmetic or other formulations of benefit in slowing the aging process in mammals.
