Abstract:
An article of clothing provides workers or users with a modifiable or transformable bottom garment which may be arranged in a functional, work configuration or a more aesthetic, non-work configuration by selectively folding a cover assembly downward or upward relative to the bottom garment. When folded downward, the cover assembly may reveal functional elements such as tool-supporting loops, pockets, etc., and/or may provide an inner surface for the wearer to clean their hands. When folded upward, a pocket is instead formed between the cover assembly and the bottom garment, for the wearer to warm their hands. One or more inserts may be connected to the downward-folded cover assembly to provide additional utilities or functions.
Abstract:
A vital programmable logic device (VPD) is provided having at least two microprocessors. The VPD is configured to provide failsafe operation of a vital control system while operating in a closed circuit environment. In at least one embodiment of the present invention, railroad grade crossing signals are controlled by the VPD.

Abstract:
In one configuration, an enterprise network is provided that includes geographically dislocated first and second network regions 202 and 206, the first and second network regions being in communication with one another through first and second networks 252 and 248 and respectively comprising first and second gateways 220 and 224 and first and second groupings of links connected to the second network 248. A common electronic address is associated with the second grouping of links. In response to a request from a first subscriber to initiate a communication session with a second subscriber in the other network region, a media server 200 determines that the first network 252 is currently incapable of supporting the bearer channel for the session. In response, the first gateway 220 transmits the common electronic address to the second gateway 224. After the common electronic address is received by the second gateway 224, the first gateway 220 transmits in band to the second gateway 224 an identifier that is used to establish the communication session.
Abstract:
An vehicle detection system is provided for tracking, detecting, and monitoring vehicles. The system and methods of the present invention are suitable for on track and roadway vehicles. In particular the present invention provides an improved and cost effective system and methods for tracking, detecting and monitoring locomotives and on track vehicles.
Abstract:
An apparatus for reducing current leakage between an input locus and at least one power rail for a system includes, for each respective power rail: (a) A first diode unit coupled between the input locus and a coupling locus. The first diode unit is configured to effect substantially zero potential drop during normal operation of the apparatus. (b) A second diode unit coupled between the coupling locus and the respective power rail. The second diode unit is configured to present no forward bias during normal operation of the apparatus. The first and second diode units cooperate to effect current flow between the input locus and the respective power rail during a predetermined operational condition of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided to regulate resistance in a discontinuous time hot-wire anemometer. The solution removes supply voltage dependency on the mass airflow output signal. Operating the hot-wire anemometer using discontinuous time regulation offers lower system power, but introduces an inverse supply dependent term in the associated transfer function. This effect is removed by multiplying the output signal via a supply dependent signal.
Abstract:
A modular split-axis stage is used to inspect and/or repair large flat glass media suitable for LCD/TFT applications. Low-precision air table sections are detachably mounted to a centrally located, high-precision granite inspection/repair section. Glass media held by a vacuum contact is transported on air cushions from the up-web air table to the central inspection/repair section. Vacuum nozzles integrated with porous medium pads precisely control the height of the flexible media above the central section during inspection or repair. Embodiments includes structures in which the media is either stationary or moving during inspection/repair. A first media can be loaded/unloaded while a second media is undergoing inspection or repair in a pipelined operational mode.
Abstract:
An external FET (12) has protection provided thereto for excessive voltages between the gate and drain and between the gate and source. A drain-to-gate clamp is provided with a plurality of series connected zener diodes (34), (36) and (38) which are connected in series with a Schottky diode (42). The current therethrough is sensed with a resistor (56) which turns on a bypass transistor (58) to shunt current around the zener diodes when an excess voltage causes them to break down. This will turn on the FET (12). The gate-to-source clamp is configured with two zener diodes (74) and (76) which are reversed biased. A series current sense resistor (82) senses the current through the diodes and turns on a transistor (84) when the current exceeds a predetermined level. This will effectively shunt current around the zener diodes (74) and (76).
