    摘要: A method for repeatably providing large operating forces to actuate a remote device in a well which includes well production means penetrating to some depth, surface means for restricting or closing-off flow of product from the well and changing well pressure during an operating sequence of the well, at least one downhole pressure storage chamber, a valve communicating between the pressure storage chamber and prevailing well pressure, a piston/cylinder device coupled with the remote device to actuate the latter, and isolation valve for controlling the supply of pressure energy from the storage chamber to the piston/cylinder device. The method includes the steps of replenishably storing pressure in the storage chamber during the operating sequence, such stored pressure being derived from fluid flow permitted by the valve, and repeatably operating the isolation valve to apply differential pressure to the piston/cylinder device to actuate the remote device.

    摘要: A fragment is relit for insertion into a target scene of an image by obtaining a fragment model for the fragment. A set of detail maps for the fragment model are generated, each of which encodes fine-scale shading effects from the surface detail of the fragment. A target scene model is obtained for the target scene, and the fragment model is inserted into the target scene model. The target scene model with inserted fragment model is rendered, and a composited target scene is generated. A modified target scene is generated by combining the composited target scene and the set of detail maps. Weights assigned to the different detail maps can be changed by the user, allowing the modified target scene to be readily altered without re-rendering the target scene model with the inserted fragment model.

    摘要: An improved integrated circuit is provided to facilitate communication between a microprocessor and a non-volatile memory. The integrated circuit comprises at least one lock status register, at least one control register and a memory controller. The lock status register comprises a plurality of lock status bits representing whether or not a corresponding unit of storage in the volatile memory has been locked. The control register stores configurable control information for the memory controller, including sizing information defining the size of the unit of storage. The memory controller is configured to receive a modification request to modify data in the non-volatile memory; determine a target unit of storage in the non-volatile memory based on a target memory address associated with the modification request; determine from the lock status register whether the target unit of storage has been locked; and implement the modification request only if the target unit storage has not been locked. A method to be implemented by the circuit is also provided.

The apparatus comprises a housing 6, 8 defining a central bore 10 having a first part 20 and a second part 22 separated by an erodeable pressure barrier member 18. The housing also defines a second fluid flow passage 12 for connecting the first part to the second part, and a plurality of conduits 24 for directing fluid onto the barrier member. A sleeve 30 has a first condition in which fluid communication between the first part 20 and the second fluid flow passage 12 is prevented, and a second condition in which fluid is permitted to flow from the first part to the second fluid flow passage to cause erosion of the barrier member.
