Abstract:
Multi-filament polyamide yarns characterized by high tenacity and low shrinkage are disclosed. Such yarns or fabrics made therefrom can be used in industrial applications in which such a combination of properties is desirable. Such yarns are particularly useful in the manufacture of automobile airbag fabrics. Also disclosed is a process for making such yarns. The yarn manufacturing process involves spin-drawing molten nylon, relaxing and controlling the yarn tension, and then winding the yarn. Yarns made according to this process exhibit linear density in the range of 110-940 decitex, tenacity equal to or greater than 80 cN/tex, and shrinkage, measured at 177° C., of less than 5%.
Abstract:
An optical device for displaying a large, two dimensional image is shown which utilizes a beam splitter having four faces upon which are mounted photosensor arrays. The photosensor arrays are mounted in a mosaic-like pattern upon each face with the pattern on one face differing from the pattern on the remaining three faces. Through this arranngement, standard photosensor arrays may be used to build a device that is capable of displaying a large image with no limitation on image side due to limitations on photosensor size.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a digit handling system and digit handling method for a subscriber terminal of a wireless telecommunications system, the subscriber terminal being arranged to have an item of telecommunications equipment connected thereto and being connectable to a central terminal of the wireless telecommunications system via a radio resource to enable a call to be routed between the item of telecommunications equipment and an exchange coupled to the central terminal. The digit handling system comprises a detector for detecting when the item of telecommunications equipment enters an off-hook state, a dial tone generator for generating a fake dial tone to the item of telecommunications equipment upon detection of the off-hook state, and a radio manager, responsive to detection of the off-hook state, for seeking acquisition of a communication channel of the radio resource over which to pass call data. Further, a switching element is provided for controlling the routing of digits through the subscriber terminal, the switching element being arranged to pass to a storage digits received from the item of telecommunications equipment following the detection of the off-hook state. A digit regenerator is then responsive to an indication that the communication channel has been acquired, to regenerate each digit stored in the storage and to output the regenerated digits over the radio resource to the central terminal. The switching element is arranged, upon determination that the storage contains no further digits, to route any further digits received from the item of telecommunications equipment for output over the radio resource to the central terminal without being stored in the storage. This approach provides a particularly efficient technique for the handling of digits generated by the item of telecommunications equipment following that equipment entering an off-hook state.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, data associated with a process rules query is received. The data includes values associated with a predetermined constraint. Results for the process query are obtained from at least one data store. The obtained results for the process query are output in a first form and a second form. In another embodiment, a searchable process knowledgebase is created based on a business process (e.g., a structure consisting of activities and sub-activities). The business process is integrated into a process-based algorithm. Obtained process query results are added to the process knowledgebase. Executed process queries are analyzed so that the process-based query algorithm learns and improves precision of obtained query results.
Abstract:
A vehicular “black box” provides recording means by which driver action can be reviewed after an accident or collision, as well as indicating immediate vehicle disposition status to the driver. Using cameras (which may be very small), the disposition of the vehicle in its lane is determined by detecting the highway lines painted on the road. The data is also recorded so that should an accident or collision occur, the events leading up to such an event are made available for later review and analysis.
