Abstract:
Apparatus for encoding a plurality of received radio frequency (RF) analog signals. The apparatus includes a plurality of pseudo-noise (PN) encoders for performing analog signal spreading and down-conversion. Each PN encoder is configured to encode a respective received RF analog signal using a respective one of a plurality of mutually orthogonal PN complex codes and to output a respective PN-encoded analog signal. The apparatus also includes a PN complex code source configured to provide the mutually orthogonal PN complex codes to the plurality of PN encoders. The PN complex code source includes a code generator for generating multiple mutually orthogonal PN codes, and a complex modulator for modulating the mutually orthogonal PN codes.
Abstract:
A surgical eye wear and light combination (10) is disclosed having a frame (11), a lens (12, and a light assembly (13). The eye wear frame also includes a pair of oppositely disposed temple arms (18) and a flexible head band (21) extending between the temple arms. The Light assembly includes a light housing (23), a battery pack (24), and an insulated conductor (25). The light housing has a main body portion (27) and a headlamp (28). The battery pack includes a battery pack housing (37) and at least one battery (38) therein. In use, the weight of the battery is separated from the weight of the majority of the eye wear and light housing. Also, if the wearer tilts his or her head downwardly the weight of the heavier battery simply pushes against the back of the wearer's head.

This steel offers improved formability at a high strength, has a good weldability and surface quality together with a good produce-ability and coat-ability.
Abstract:
Aircraft and airframes include a skin operatively coupled to a structural reinforcement member. The structural reinforcement member and the skin collectively define a run-out region that encompasses a terminal edge of the structural reinforcement member. Within the run-out region, the skin is more flexible than in adjacent portions of the skin. Methods include defining a region of increased flexibility of a skin relative to adjacent portions of the skin, and operatively coupling the skin to a structural reinforcement member.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a method for preparing an environmentally degradable polymeric compound as well as to such a compound per se and to its use. A compound of the present invention includes a polycondensated lactic acid containing polymer, having a molecular weight (Mw) of from 500 to 50,000 g/mol, to which a flexibilizing aliphatic polyester having a molecular weight of from 500 to 50,000 g/mol is coupled. The amount of lactic acid including groups in the polymeric compound ranges from 50 to 99% and the amount of flexibilizing polyester groups ranges from 1 to 50%.
Abstract:
A method of, and system for, generating a sentence from a semantic representation maps the semantic representation to an unordered set of syntactic nodes. Simplified generation grammar rules and statistical goodness measure values from a corresponding analysis grammar are then used to create a tree structure to order the syntactic nodes. The sentence is then generated from the tree structure. The generation grammar is a simplified (context free) version of a corresponding full (context sensitive) analysis grammar. In the generation grammar, conditions on each rule are ignored except those directly related to the semantic representation. The statistical goodness measure values, which are calculated through an analysis training phase in which a corpus of example sentences is processed using the full analysis grammar, are used to guide the generation choice to prefer substructures most commonly found in a particular syntactic/semantic context during analysis.
Abstract:
A method and grammar checking system are provided that generate a stochastic score, or a statistical goodness measure, for each of an input string of text and one or more alternative strings of text. An alternative generator generates the alternative strings of text, and a ranking parser produces parse trees and corresponding statistical goodness measures for each of the strings. The string of text having the highest goodness measure is selected for recommendation to a user.
Abstract:
Construction materials such as 4-foot by 8-foot sheets of plywood, drywall, and similar materials have fiducial markings for quick visual reference of the user. Imprinted lines of equal spacings indicate to the user the location of wall studs at 16-inch or 24-inch spacings, and the sheet of material can also include oblique lines and one or more circles, for reference of the user in quickly determining the size of remnants. Similar markings may also be applied to roll-stored materials such as carpeting.
Abstract:
A modular oven, such as a batch process oven, includes a standardized set of self supporting, interconnectable panels which, when assembled, from a self-supporting heat containment shell, free of added structural support members. The present invention is also directed at self-supporting modular oven panels and a method of assembling the panels such as in the expansion or conversion of a first modular oven assembly to a second assembly more conducive to current production requirements.
Abstract:
A modular oven, such as a batch process oven, having a standardized set of self supporting, interconnectable panels which, when assembled, from a self-supporting heat containment shell, free of added structural support members. Also described are the self-supporting modular oven panels themselves having common roof, sidewall and end wall shell configuration and a method of assembling the panels such as in the expansion or conversion of a first modular oven assembly to a second assembly more conducive to current production requirements.
