Abstract:
System and methods for rapid generation of attribute driven temporal clustering are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes a data storage device and a server. The data storage device may be configured to store a database comprising a plurality of records. The system may also include a server in data communication with the data storage device. The server may be suitably programmed to receive a first attribute and a second attribute, search a database stored on a data storage device to obtain a first group of records associated with the first attribute, search the first group of records to obtain a second group of records associated with the second attribute, determine a temporal relationship between a first index date of a first attribute and a second index date of the second attribute, and generate an output comprising a graphical representation of the temporal relationship.
Abstract:
A welding helmet comprises a face cover, a first pane and a second pane. The face cover comprises a panel extending across an entire face of a person. The first pane comprises auto darkening material supported by the face cover panel so as to extend in a first flat plane. A second pane comprises auto darkening material supported by the face cover panel so as to extend in a second flat plane oblique to the first flat plane.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for scaling down a Web page image enables the image to be displayed on a standard television without horizontal scrolling of the image. A Web page image that initially has a horizontal dimension larger than the horizontal dimension of a television display is received from a web server and subsequently scaled down by a scaling factor that is based only upon the amount of scaling that is necessary to fit the image within the horizontal dimension of the television display. This scaling factor is used to scale the image horizontally and vertically, thus preserving the aspect ratio of the image. When a hyperlink from the scaled down Web page image is selected, coordinates to the hyperlink are scaled up based on the same scaling factor so that they will correspond with the server-side image map of the Web page image.
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method for presentation of a natural history and the progression pathway of a disease is presented. In one embodiment, the apparatus an input/output adapter configured to receive information to generate a health profile for an individual. The apparatus may also include a processor configured to retrieve a disease progression map comprising one or more disease progression states from a data storage device, and determine a disease progression state associated with the individual in response to the health profile. In a further embodiment, the apparatus may include a display adapter coupled to the state determination module, the display module configured to display a graphical representation of the disease progression state with reference to the disease progression map.
Abstract:
An apparatus system and methods are presented for best match search. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a plurality of functional modules configured to collect user profile information and a service provider criterion, match a service provider profile to at least one of the user profile information and the service provider criterion, calculate a service provider statistic based on service provider data associated with a selected service provider, and generate service provider comparison data in response to the service provider statistic. In the described embodiments, these modules include a profile collection module, a profile match module, a provider analyzer, and a provider comparison module.

Abstract:
A system for accessing the World Wide Web or other information sources using the Internet incorporates scaled-down versions of images associated with recently-viewed documents or documents designated as favorites into a recent menu or a favorites menu, respectively. As a user accesses a Web page, a scaled-down version of the Web page is inserted into a recent menu. The user can view the recent menu and visually determine the identity of the recently-viewed Web pages, which allows the user to conveniently select Web pages to access. This recent menu also enables the user to access recently-viewed documents in any order, which does not need to be in the chronological order in which the pages were originally viewed or in a reverse chronological order. Scaled-down versions of Web pages designated as favorites are stored in the favorites menu, thereby assisting the user in recalling the content of the favorite documents.
Abstract:
A collaboration system synchronizes an application or applications running on one or more computer systems. Each of the applications has a local data copy and the applications commence operation by creating consistent local copies from a common third copy. The consistency is maintained by distributing address space independent selections and commands to each application as they are entered at a controlling system. The selections and commands are generated by directly manipulating a presentation of each local data copy. When a selection and command arrive at a destination, the selection is used to find and selection the data and the command is applied to the data located by the selection.
Abstract:
In a visual display system using a tabbed focus, movement of the focus is coordinated seamlessly between container-generated visual content and active content.
Abstract:
Described are a method and apparatus for incorporating broadcast television into Web pages. Broadcast television can be embedded into Web pages using, for example, a “tv:” attribute in conjunction with common HTML tags. Within the “tv:” attribute, a Web-page author can reference a TV station by channel number, network, or broadcast call letters. HTML documents are parsed to recover both the conventional tags and tags that include TV attributes. The resulting Web pages display the identified broadcast TV in a frame specified by the TV attribute. One embodiment supports the presentation of television in the background of an HTML document. In that embodiment, HTML tags corresponding to overlying HTML content are provided with an attribute that defines a level of transparency from zero to one-hundred percent. The transparency attribute allows content providers to overlay any type of HTML information over a broadcast television show without completely obscuring the underlying show. This aspect of the invention employs a z attribute that can be used to specify the relative position of broadcast television and overlying HTML content.
