Abstract:
An ion mobility spectrometry method comprising determining whether a sample comprises ions having a first characteristic, and in the event that it is determined that the sample comprises ions having the first characteristic, applying thermal energy together with a radio frequency, RF, electric field to parent ions so as to obtain daughter ions having a second characteristic for inferring at least one identity for the parent ions based on the first characteristic and the second characteristic.

Abstract:
An application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and method of manufacture. The ASIC includes a substrate layer, at least one metal layer and an operational block. The metal layer is formed above the substrate layer. The operational block is formed in the substrate layer and the metal layer, and is definable by a two-dimensional boundary. The operational block includes a plurality of operational logic gates, a first subgroup of spare logic gates, a second subgroup of spare logic gates, operational wiring and spare gate wiring. The operational logic gates, the first subgroup and the second subgroup are formed on the substrate layer, with the first subgroup being spaced from the second subgroup. The operational wiring is routed into the metal layer and interconnects the operational logic gates to configure the operational block to perform a desired operation. The spare gate wiring is similarly routed into the metal layer. The spare gate wiring is separate from the operational wiring, and connects at least one of the first subgroup logic gates to at least one of the second subgroup logic gates. In a preferred embodiment, a plurality of metal layers are provided, and a spacing between the subgroups dictates that the spare gate wiring, as formed by an automatic routing tool, extends to the outer metal layers where it is accessible by a focused ion beam device.
Abstract:
A modular mold assembly comprising two mold halves wherein each mold half comprises separable and interchangeable components that allow for the production of a plurality of unique glass containers is discloses. A new method of manufacturing customized glass containers which utilizes such modular mold assembly is also disclosed.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a green tea product with enhanced aroma. The method comprises the steps of: providing an aroma composition comprising E-2-hexenal and linalool in a weight ratio of at least 0.7:1; and combining the aroma composition with the tea product. Also provided are green tea products with enhanced aroma.
Abstract:
An apparatus for generating carbon monoxide comprising an enclosure (6) having an inlet and an outlet at least one of which is provided with means (8) restricting air flow from the inlet to the outlet, a container (1) located within the enclosure (6) arranged to receive carbon material (2) in intimate contact with an electrical heating element (3), and means (5) for causing air to move from the inlet to the outlet.
Abstract:
The present invention is a walking assist device which comprises a shaft having a hand grip at one end and having an end piece at the other. A retractable member is positioned within the end piece and has a point at one end. The retractable member may be positioned in a first position such that the point protrudes from the end piece. The retractable member has a second position in which the point is retracted within the end piece. In an alternate embodiment, a locking mechanism is connected between the shaft and the retractable member to provide an alternately locked position in either the retracted or protruding position of the point.
