    摘要: Disclosed herein is a breather assembly for use in an internal combustion engine and a method of operating an internal combustion engine. In at least one embodiment, the breather assembly includes an input chamber for receiving blow-by gas, the input chamber bounded at least partially by a crankcase exterior, and a standpipe situated inside the input chamber for directing blow-by gas into the input chamber. Additionally, the breather assembly can include an input drainback passage situated inside the input chamber and an output chamber situated adjacent the input chamber, the chamber having an inner wall with a one-way valve that allows blow-by gas to flow from the input chamber to the output chamber. The breather assembly can also include an output drainback aperture situated in the inner wall and an output chamber housing that substantially encloses the output chamber and includes an exhaust port for exhausting blow-by gas.

The assembly includes a grass screen for covering an air intake port of the engine, a grass screen stiffening mechanism for supporting the grass screen, a washer mechanism for compressing the screen such that the screen is pre-stressed during manufacture and such that the screen remains in compression during engine operation. The assembly can include one or more stud mechanisms which are securable to either an engine flywheel assembly or an engine fan assembly. The washer mechanism, the grass screen and the grass screen stiffening mechanism are engaged in a secured fashion to one or more stud mechanisms. A method of assembling and positioning a grass screen assembly in an engine is also disclosed.

    摘要: A gaseous fuel adaptor for modifying an internal combustion engine having a liquid fuel carburetor. The carburetor has an air intake for receiving air to mix with a liquid fuel. The adaptor includes a body mounted over the carburetor air intake and a passageway having an inlet and an outlet formed in the body. Air enters the passageway through the inlet and air exits the passageway through the outlet into the carburetor air intake. A gaseous fuel feed port disposed between the passageway inlet and outlet feeds gaseous fuel into the passageway, and a butterfly valve disposed in the passageway between the gaseous fuel feed port and the passageway inlet meters air entering the passageway to mix with the gaseous fuel.

    摘要: An internal breather for removing oil from blow-by in an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The breather includes a breather cover having a breather cover drainback hole. The breather further includes a breather cover seal in sealed engagement with the breather cover, and the breather cover seal includes a breather cover seal drainback hole that is aligned with the breather cover drainback hole to create a drainback passage. A breather chamber is bounded on at least one end by the breather cover and the breather seal. A breather media is positioned within the breather chamber, the breather media for removing an amount of oil from the blow-by. The amount of oil removed from the blow-by can, during operation of the engine, be drawn through the drainback passage so as to exit the breather chamber, at least partially due to gravity, and at least partially using a gearing mechanism that is in operative association with a camshaft of the engine. Advantageously, the gearing mechanism, for example a helical gear, can be strategically positioned in-line with the drainback passage.
