    摘要: A lead assembly includes at plurality of drop line joined to a feeder cable at joints each having a compression lug that is preferably surrounded by undermolding and overmolding. In use, each drop line is connected to a solar array, and the feeder cable is connected to an inverter. In this manner a plurality of solar arrays are electrically coupled together, with a common feeder cable connecting them all to the inverter. A system of the present invention doesn't require a combiner box which is conventionally employed directly upstream of the inverter.

The system lends itself to retrofitting within some commercially available recombiner boxes. Signals emitted from the RF controller component of the system are received by a central processor, which includes a dashboard interface. Multiple systems in proximity can be linked to form a mesh network with one central processor.

    摘要: A wire harness connects multiple solar panel junction boxes to a recombiner box. The wire harness includes in-line fuse assemblies, with optional blocking diodes, so each string of solar panels is associated with one fuse. In the event of a blown fuse, only one upstream solar panel string is affected. Entire wire harnesses and/or individual in-line fuse assemblies can be easily swapped out, thereby decreasing the time and expense of troubleshooting and repairing.

    摘要: A monitoring system for and method of preventing electrical arcs in a solar energy system is disclosed. The monitoring system includes an insulation resistance (IR) monitoring device, a disconnect switch, a power supply, an indicator, and optionally a communications interface. A method of preventing electrical arcs in a solar energy system using the monitoring system may include, but is not limited to, the steps of providing and installing the monitoring system in a solar energy system; activating the solar energy system and the monitoring system; continuously monitoring the insulation resistance of a conductor; if the lower and/or upper resistance threshold of the IR monitoring device is not satisfied, then transmitting a shutdown signal to the disconnect switch, thereby turning off the power to the affected circuit, and indicating the presence of the potential fault condition.
