    摘要: A metal forming press has an oscillating beam driven at its center by a connecting rod connected to a throw on a crankshaft. The upper end of the beam is pivoted to a link which drives a ram. The lower end of the beam pivots about a rotating eccentric shaft having an eccentric lobe. As the beam oscillates, these eccentricities cause the lower pivot to move toward and away from the ram so that the arc of the upper pivot approximates a straight line.

    摘要: A cupfeeder for feeding cups from a supply chute to a feed location in operative alignment with a drawing and ironing machine is disclosed. The cupfeeding mechanism comprises a push rod mechanism mechanically driven in reciprocating strokes to advance a cup which has dropped from the lower end of the chute to the feed location along a transfer path defined by a positioning member. The push rod mechanism includes an inner push rod extending telescopically from an outer push rod driven by the reciprocating drive. The inner push rod is maintained by pressurized fluid in a fixed axial location, relative to the outer push rod, to project forwardly therefrom to a maximum extent to engage the cups in the cupfeeding process. In response to jamming of a cup within the drawing and ironing station, pressurized fluid is re-routed within the outer push rod to retract the inner push rod and prevent further transfer of cups along the transfer path. The cupfeeder also includes a cylinder actuated stop adapted to enter the transfer path in response to said jamming. A further stop arrangement may be provided within the chute to prevent a next in-line cup from dropping through the chute into the transfer path.

    摘要: A system for servicing a racing car or other car at a track, other race course, or similar destination employs an open platform for supporting the car by its tires in a horizontal position. The platform supports the car, and is itself supported by a crawler, in a carrier vehicle, for example a truck or trailer, when the carrier vehicle is transporting the car. The crawler and platform are also used to unload and load the car from and into the carrier vehicle. To unload the car at the destination, the crawler, with the platform and car on it, is driven out of the carrier vehicle and onto the ground. Next, the platform is elevated by extending its legs so that it rises off, is spaced from, and straddles the crawler. Then the crawler is driven out from under the platform. Then the platform is lowered to the ground, where it is used as a lift to elevate the car so that its undercarriage may be accessed. The platform may also be used to tune the chassis of the car. The chassis tuning may include manipulating the chassis to a static position which emulates an instantaneous position of the car on the race course. The carrier, platform, and car may be loaded back into the carrier vehicle by the reverse procedure.

Then at subsequent die-forming stations, forming progressively smaller reduced diameter necks by a series of dies, all of which preferably have the same multi-radiused forming surface profile which virtually eliminates the undesirable formation of pleats in the final neck configuration.
