Abstract:
A rotary drum washer-extractor having an abrasive structure therein for treating fabrics or garments in a wash medium and a method of abrading fabrics or garments employing the abrasive structure to produce a controlled abrasion of the fabrics or garments are disclosed. The abrasive structure is formed preferably of a corrosion resistant material wherein the material forms an abrasive surface affixed to metal surface by a molten metal technique.
Abstract:
A clamping apparatus is disclosed including a first handle defining a hole, a magnet affixed to the first handle, and a movable jaw coupled to the first handle and a second handle, the jaw comprising two clamp segments. The apparatus further includes a magnet contacting element disposed on a release lever on the second handle, wherein pressure is applied to release the release lever from contacting the magnet in an open position.
Abstract:
A fastening apparatus includes a fixed body with a first end and a second end, wherein the first end defines a groove for receiving a pin, and a movable body having a coupling end and a receiving end, the coupling end coupled to the second end of the fixed body. The fastening apparatus further includes a socket disposed on the receiving end of the movable body, the socket capable of receiving a fastener, wherein an edge of the socket defines an aperture to align with a pin. The fastening apparatus further includes a plunging member disposed with in the movable body, the plunging member coupled to the fixed body, wherein the plunging member is utilized to apply pressure to the fastener.

Abstract:
A system for monitoring and controlling the color and shade in a decolorization or fading process for textiles. The system contains a visible light source which illuminates a sample of a dyed textile. A scanner reads the illuminated sample and provides an optical image which is sensed by optical transducers which transforms it into an representative electronic signal which is analyzed for a chroma signal component (image color content) and/or luminance component (image shade/gray scale content). A process control computer monitors and adjusts the process speed and at predetermined color and shade finish stops the decolorization process based on the measured and processed image contents which is tracked by a calibrated and sensed optical image represented by processed electronic signals.

Abstract:
There is provided an efficient and effective method and apparatus for purifying methyl-tert butyl ether contaminated water by bubbling into the water an oxidizing gas and then stripping the oxidizing gas and MTBE from the water. A pressurized container is used to create microbubbles and to promote oxidation.
Abstract:
There is provided a process of desizing textiles with enzymes together with a subsequent step of deactivating any residual enzymes to prevent degradation of the textiles. There is further provided a step or removal of any residual sizing and/or decolorizing dyed garments with ozone.
Abstract:
A composition is provided for improving decolorizing and desizing garments and fabrics with a reducing agent in a washer. A surfactant is added so as to improve wet out and to reduce the surface tension of the water.
