摘要:
Imaging methods, imaging device calibration methods, imaging devices, and hard imaging device sensor assemblies are described. According to one aspect, an imaging method includes forming a hard color image upon media using image data, the hard color image corresponding to the color image, and after the forming, sensing an optical characteristic of the hard color images at a plurality of different spatial locations of individual ones of the hard color images, and providing information regarding the optical characteristic at the different spatial locations of the hard color image after the sensing.

A charge director injection system includes a charge director tank, a liquid toner tank, a charge director pump to pump charge director from the charge director tank into the liquid toner tank, and a control system configured to measure a change in charge density per amount of charge director injected into the liquid toner tank, and create a charge profile indicating a relationship between amount of charge director injected into the liquid toner and change in charge density of the liquid toner within the liquid toner tank.

A method is provided for decoupling the control of dot gain and optical density in electrophotographic based printing by varying the exposure level for each dot in an image.
摘要:
A correction method for correcting unintended spatial variation in lightness across a physical image produced by a xerographic process, the method comprising producing a test image using the xerographic process, measuring a difference between actual lightness and intended lightness across at least part of the test image, and varying the light source level used subsequently in the xerographic process to correct for the measured unintended difference.

Apparatus for equalizing pressure along a nip between a photosensitive imaging cylinder (PIC) and an intermediate transfer member (ITM) in a printing press comprising: first and second optical sensors having first and second fields of view respectively that view different first and second regions of a substrate printed by the printer and generate signals responsive to the optical densities of first and second test patterns printed by the printer on the first and second regions of the substrate; at least one motor operable to control pressure between the rollers; and a controller that receives the signals and controls the at least one motor responsive to the signals to equalize the pressure along the nip.

A method of accurately printing a target color is provided. The method comprises: in a first step measuring the light spectrum (106) of a first printed color sample (104), which has been printed with a first ink coverage; and from the measured light spectrum calculating a color discrepancy between the first printed color sample and the target color. The method further comprises in a second step calculating an improved ink coverage (112), and printing a second color sample with the improved ink coverage (104). The aforementioned steps are repeated until a predetermined condition for accuracy of the target color has been reached (110).
摘要:
A method of enabling preparing a printing system calibrated with a first halftone screen for printing with a second halftone screen. The calibration is represented by calibration data. Calibration data for the second halftone screen is produced from the existing calibration data of the first halftone screen without resorting to previous calibration data for the second halftone screen, based on correlation data which represent a first-order correlation between the halftone screens.
摘要:
A method for monitoring development parameters of a liquid toner electrophotographic (LEP) printer, the method comprising defining an operational window for a current utilized by the printer and monitoring the current to determine a deviation of the current outside the operational window.
