    摘要: A supercharged boiler which can be started up in less time is usually required to place boilers in operation. An economizer evaporator and superheater are all contained within a pressure vessel and the combustion gases operate a supercharger which furnishes air to the burners, so that during start-up the supercharger can be run from an independent drive motor to pressurize air and raise temperatures within the boiler to prevent the creation of large temperature gradients when the boiler is started up.

The pipes have at one of their ends longitudinal slots and the backing rings have radially extending pins so that the backing ring can be positioned in one end of the pipe to position the pins within the slots to permit a section of pipe to be moved laterally into position so that the backing ring can be moved axially to take the pin out of the slot and then rotated so that the pipes are spaced a proper distance apart and concentric with each other so that an effective weld joint can be made.

    摘要: A fluid heating and separating apparatus in which an upper separating chamber and a lower heating chamber are defined in a pressure vessel, and a relatively hot fluid is introduced into the heating chamber. A relatively cool fluid is passed through the heating chamber in a heat exchange relationship with the relatively hot fluid to heat the cool fluid and condense at least a portion of the hot fluid. The chambers are in communication to permit the passage of the light portions of the hot fluid from the heating chamber into the separating chamber in which it is separated into a vapor portion which is passed outwardly from the vessel, and a liquid portion which is passed back into the heating chamber.

    摘要: A control system for controlling the flow of a gas through a conduit system, in which a tank is provided which connects two portions of the conduit system and which contains a liquid at a predetermined level which is maintained by a liquid reservoir in communication with the tank. One portion of the conduit system registers with the tank above the liquid level and the other portion of the conduit system communicates with the interior of the tank at a point below the liquid level. As a result, the liquid normally prevents the flow of the gas through the conduit system unless the pressure of the gas is sufficient to displace the liquid from the tank to the reservoir to the extent that the corresponding portion of the conduit system is exposed and placed in communication with the other portion. A charge of inert gas is introduced into the tank to raise the fluid pressure in the tank and prevent diffusion of gas or air through the tank.
