摘要: A device for unstacking flat objects comprises an unstacking head (2) provided with a suction cup (88) for grasping the first flat object in a stack of such objects presented thereto and for moving a grasped flat object towards an exit position (40) in which the object is released. The suction cup (88) is a bellows suction cup made of a flexible material such that when it grasps the first flat object in the stack, it retracts under the effect of the suction and entrains at least the surface of the grasped object therewith as it retracts. A shoe (90) having a surface close to the grasping plane of the suction cup is disposed adjacent to the suction cup in fixed relationship relative to the mount (50) carrying the suction cup. The shoe thus constitutes an obstacle to the surface of a grasped flat object, thereby warping said surface as the suction cup retracts.

摘要: A method of extracting and accelerating flat objects such as postal items which are presented in the outlet position of an unstacking head for use by a machine downstream therefrom, the method making use of a clamp for grasping postal items one-by-one and of various sensors (7) such as photoelectric cells, serving to indicate the presence of a postal item in the outlet position of the unstacking head, or in the field of action of the clamp, or serving to indicate that the clamp is in a waiting position or in an end-of-stroke position, the method being characterized in that it essentially comprises the following stages:moving the clamp to a waiting position;when the presence of a postal item is expected in the outlet position from the unstacking head, driving the carriage towards the outlet position of the unstacking head;when the presence of the postal item is detected within the field of action of the clamp, the clamp is closed and the carriage is driven towards the downstream machine;as soon as the presence of a postal item is no longer detected in the outlet position of the unstacking head, the clamp is unclamped, thereby releasing the postal item; andthe carriage is stopped and returned to the waiting position.

摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus for deflecting and stacking letters and the like.Such an apparatus comprises a support plate which, with the horizontal, forms an angle of 23.degree. and has at least one belt driven by motor means, at least one second belt driven by friction by the first belt and which in turn drives at least one further belt. A deflecting means placed in a deflection position by a control means deflects the letters towards a stacker, constituted by a pallet sliding under the action of the stack of letters during formation along a shaft.

摘要: In the method of handling mail items, while a mail item is on its first pass through the machine, the method consists in forming a digital image of the surface of the mail item, in deriving, from the image, a digital fingerprint characterizing the mail item, and in recording said digital fingerprint in a memory in correspondence with the bar code printed on the mail item. While the mail item is on its second pass through the machine, the method consists in reading the printed bar code that is printed on the mail item, and, if it has not been possible to extract completely the information contained in the printed code read off the mail item, in using said correspondence in the memory between the printed code that is printed on the mail item and the digital fingerprint that characterizes the mail item to continue machine-sorting the mail item, thereby contributing to reducing the error rate. The printed bar code that is printed on the mail item may be a mail item identity code, a customer applied identifier, or a sorting code for outward and/or inward sorting.

摘要: A method of sorting postal items for preparing postman's walks on a postal sorting machine having an inlet and a set of sorting outlets includes loading a first batch of postal items and a second batch of postal items consecutively into the inlet of the machine, and directing the postal items of the first batch towards a first subset of sorting outlets, and the postal items of the second batch of postal items towards a second subset of sorting outlets that is separate from the first subset of sorting outlets; and while the postal items of the second batch of postal items are being directed towards the second subset of sorting outlets, reloading the inlet of the machine with the postal items taken from the first subset of sorting outlets, and, while the postal items of the first batch of postal items are being directed towards the first subset of sorting outlets, re-loading the inlet of the machine with the postal items taken from the second subset of sorting outlets.

摘要: In order to be able to prepare a postman's walk containing both letters (L) and “large format” flat postal objects (P) in a single pass: the letters and the large format objects are moved in series using a conveyor (3) over the bins of a bin carrousel (4) that is stationary, with the successive bins of the carrousel corresponding to different successive delivery points in the postman's walk; each letter or large format object on the conveyor is directed towards that one of the bins of the carrousel which corresponds to the delivery point for the letter or large format object; and when all of the letters and large format objects of the postman's walk have been grouped together by delivery points in the bins of carrousel, the bin carrousel is set into motion in order to bring each bin in succession to a location (5) where the bin is emptied into a receptacle.
