    摘要: A moisture curable, one-part sealant composition comprising a silicone-urethane copolymer is provided. The copolymer is prepared via reaction of an alpha, omega hydroxy terminated siloxane having a molecular weight of 5,000 or less with a polyisocyanate. The copolymer has a free NCO content of greater than about 1 wt. % available for moisture cure upon usage.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for curing a film of a coating composition under vapor permeation curable conditions. Such method comprises exposing a coating composition to a vaporous tertiary amine catalyst. The coating composition can be in the form of an atomizate which is concurrently generated and mixed with a vaporous tertiary amine catalyst followed by application to a substrate, or can be an applied film of the coating composition which is exposed to the vaporous tertiary amine catalyst. The coating composition comprises a polymercapto-compound and a multi-isocyanate curing agent. The coating composition can be formulated to contain very high solids content (e.g. in excess of 70% and on up to 100% non-volatile solids).

    摘要: The present invention is an improvement in a method for making a phenol-functional polyester polymer wherein a hydroxybenzoic acid, a polyol, and a dicarboxylic acid are subjected to a polyesterification reaction under polyesterification conditions to make said polymer. The improvement comprises conducting the reaction in two stages, the first stage comprising the formation of an ester-alcohol adduct between said hydroxybenzoic acid and an epoxy compound wherein the ratio of carboxyl groups from said hydroxybenzoic acid to said oxirane groups of said epoxy compound is about 1:1. The second stage of the improvement comprises conducting the polyesterification reaction with said adduct.

    摘要: The use of a monomer as the solvent in both components of a urethane polymerization system eliminates the need for the expenditure of much energy to remove solvent from the cured resin. The exotherm of the urethane cure supplies the heat for the activation of a relatively thermally stable free radical catalyst which then catalyzes the curing of the monomer. The two component system is stable in storage.

    摘要: One hundred percent thermosetting phenol/formaldehyde (P/F) resin and method of preparation thereof are disclosed. The resin comprises a molar ratio of F/P of about 1.2-1.7, has a softening point of about 80.degree. C. and cures at temperature of about 140.degree.-160.degree. C. The method comprises heating the reactants in a solvent-less system in the presence of an ortho directing catalyst while monitoring the amount of free formaldehyde present in the reaction system.
