    摘要: A clamp for open ended flat belts. The clamp has a tapered housing with an aperture at a first end providing access to the housing interior and a second open end also providing access to the interior. A tapered wedge is removable and replaceable from the interior of the housing, the wedge having a first end and a radiused second end and having a surface comprising alternating ribs and lands. The clamp includes a lock having a concave surface similar to the radiused second end of the tapered wedge. The housing may have a removeable and replaceable side wall providing access to the interior.

Further axial clamp loading may be provided through multiple sets of bearings by the application of a fastener, such as a shaft bolt and a sleeve that press against the inner races of the bearings in the axial direction with this clamp load. The belt-driven pulley with low axial runout through the application of a spindle shaft utilizing at least two sets of bearings with radial clearance to the shaft may be utilized with heavy-duty trucking, marine, industrial, and other systems that utilize an overhung driven component.

    摘要: A drive belt includes an undercord layer having a first region proximate a backing layer surface of the undercord layer and a second region proximate the exterior surface of the undercord layer, the first region being foamed and the second region either being foamed to a lesser extent than the first region or not being foamed. The drive belt further includes a cover layer formed over the exterior surface of the undercord layer. Alternatively, the drive belt may be foamed throughout the undercord layer thickness, with a cover layer formed on the exterior surface of the undercord layer. The manufacturing process for making the foamed undercord layer can include incorporating a first quantity of foaming agent in a first sheet of undercord layer material and either a second quantity of foaming agent in a second sheet of undercord layer material, the second quantity being less than the first quantity, or including no foaming agent in the second sheet. The first sheet and second sheet are disposed in a mold, to which heat and pressure is applied to cure the sheets and foam the first sheet and the second sheet when the second sheet includes foaming agent. The mold includes an exterior portion that forms ridges in the exterior surface of the undercord layer and a cover layer disposed on the exterior surface of the undercord layer. The drive belt incorporating the undercord layer having a foamed first region may exhibit reduced bending stiffness and improved energy efficiency.

    摘要: Described herein are embodiments of a pressure hose having an improved reinforcement layer. In some embodiments, the reinforcement layer of the pressure hose has a reinforcement volumetric ratio (RVR) of greater than or equal to 110%. The reinforcement layer can include a plurality of braided beams, with each beam comprising a plurality of ends. In some embodiments, the plurality of ends within a beam are arranged in a multi-layer orientation. In some embodiments, the number of ends and the end orientation within each beam is identical amongst all beams in the reinforcement layer. The shape, size, and arrangement of the ends within a beam can all be adjusted to increase the surface area to volume ratio and, correspondingly, the RVR of the reinforcement layer.

    摘要: Described herein is a tensioner device, and assemblies and methods of manufacture thereof. The tensioner device may be adapted to create a target tension in an associated belt based on the measured length of the belt and/or measure characteristics of a biasing element, such as a stiffness of the biasing element. A biasing element may exhibit a measured stiffness and be associated with a damping assembly and a base of the tensioner device. An engagement member may be associated with the damping assembly for movement therewith and angularly displaceable relative to the base and the biasing element to tension the belt. In one example, the biasing element may be connected to the damping assembly at a position determined by the measured stiffness to define a value of the angular displacement of the engagement member relative to the biasing element and create a target tension in the belt.

    摘要: Fixed belt tensioners for a belt system, such as for an exercise bicycle or other belted exercise equipment. The tensioners have the pulley-bearing assembly fixedly attached to the tensioning arm, which is attached to the equipment frame or to a bracket via the same aperture that forms the axis by which the pulley-bearing assembly is attached to the tensioning arm. The arm includes a protrusion or other feature that provides a pivot point for use during the belt installation process. The tensioning arm also incorporates a tensioning adjustment, such as a hex or square hole or protrusion for engagement with a torque wrench or a simple wrench.
