Abstract:
Low viscosity heteropolysaccharides, e.g., xanthan gum, S-194, and guar gum, are disclosed. These gums are especially useful in preparing herbicidal compositions.
Abstract:
Deacetylated Polysaccharide S-60, prepared by deacetylating the polysaccharide S-60 produced by fermentation of Pseudomonas elodea, ATCC 31461, has valuable properties in both the clarified and non-clarified form, and is useful as an agar substitute or a shapeable room deodorant. The non-clarified deacetylated gum contains about 17% protein and principally carbohydrate, which comprises glucuronic acid (.about.13% based on wt. gum) and the neutral sugars rhamnose and glucose in the approximate molar ratio 3:2.The clarified, deacetylated gum contains mostly carbohydrate and no more than about 2% protein.
Abstract:
This invention relates to the recovery of oil from underground deposits. The invention relates to novel gel compositions consisting of water, a polysaccharide polymer, an acid generating salt and a melamine resin. The invention also relates to the method of utilizing said composition to recovery underground oil.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a gelled explosive and a method for its preparation. More specifically, the invention relates to a gelled explosive composition containing water, at least one member selected from the group of a polysaccharide colloid and synthetic polymer; water-soluble melamine resin and a water-soluble explosive salt.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed towards biopolymer salts and biopolymer compositions comprising a biopolymer salt having an endotoxin content less than about 100 endotoxin units per gram. Because of their low endotoxin content, the biopolymer salts and biopolymer compositions of this invention may be administered parenterally to a patient. The present invention is also directed to methods of preparing the compositions of this invention.
Abstract:
Bipyridinium quaternary salt compositions are prepared which are dry, free-flowing, wettable powders. The solid compositions are complexes of the bipyridinium salts and algin.
