Disclosed is a smart soft composite actuator which enables user-desiring deformation by changing the position of smart material functioning as an active component, wherein the smart soft composite actuator comprises a smart material whose shape is changeable based on an external signal; and a matrix for supporting the smart material and determining an external shape, wherein the smart material is positioned inside the matrix or in a surface of the matrix, and at least one of in-plane shear deformation and out-of-plane deformation is realized by controlling the position of smart material.

Disclosed are a button for a control panel assembly and a clothes handling apparatus having the same. In a control panel assembly comprising a control panel having button holes to mount a plurality of buttons and a display window, at least one of the buttons comprises a pressing portion having an optical diffusion portion for diffusing light occurring from a light source disposed at a back of the buttons; a mounting portion for fixing the buttons to a back of the control panel; and a supporting portion for connecting the pressing portion and the mounting portion to each other, and providing an elastic force to the pressing portion. According to this configuration, a larger amount of light occurring from the light source is emitted to a front of the buttons, and a user's convenience is enhanced.

A knob deco for a laundry machine is provided. The knob deco may include a knob guard in which a dial knob is inserted, and a lamp window main body mounted at a rear surface of the knob guard. Lamp windows may be formed in the knob guard for transmitting light emitted from a rear side of the knob guard to a front side of the knob guard, and lamp window shielding members may be provided at the lamp windows to partially shield light transmitted through the lamp window.

Disclosed is an underwater robot based on flapping comprising: an actuator including a smart material and directional material, wherein the smart material is changed in its shape according to an external signal, and the directional material restricts a deformation in a specific direction; a body connected with the actuator; and a controller which makes the actuator perform a first stroke in a direction, and a second stroke in another direction being different from that of the first stroke; wherein the actuator performs at least one deformation of bending and twisting according to position of the smart material and directionality of the directional material, and furthermore enables to simultaneously perform the smooth bending and twisting motion with the simple structure by adjusting the position of the smart material functioning as the active component, and the directionality of the directional material functioning as the passive component.

A multi-unit fuel cell system that includes a common-use reforming unit configured to supply hydrogen to multiple fuel cell units that are installed in multiple units, such as apartments within an apartment building. In one example embodiment, a fuel cell system including a common-use reforming unit and multiple fuel cell units is disclosed. The common-use reforming unit is configured to supply hydrogen to the plurality of fuel cell units. Each fuel cell unit includes a stack unit, an air supplying unit, an integral heat exchange unit, a hot-water supplying unit, an auxiliary heat supplying unit, and an electric output unit.
