A crank apparatus for a manually powered cycle comprises a crank assembly and a pair of guide devices. The crank assembly includes a shaft, a first crank lever attached to a first end of the shaft and a second crank lever attached to a second end of the shaft. Each crank lever includes a fixed crank lever member attached to the shaft, a movable crank lever member movably attached to the fixed crank lever member and a follower device attached to the movable crank lever member. The pair of guide devices each includes a guide feature defining a non-concentric guide path with respect to a rotational axis of the shaft. The follower device of each one of the crank levers is engaged with the guide feature of a respective one of the guide devices whereby the movable crank lever member of each one of the crank levers moves between a respective retracted position and a respective extended position with respect to the fixed crank lever member when the crank assembly is rotated about the rotational axis of the shaft.

A composite recovery board (10, 20, 30) comprises a foam core (11) having lower (12) and upper (13) surfaces, wherein the foam core is selected from the group consisting of polyisocyanurate and polyurethane materials and mixtures thereof, and a filler within said foam core selected from the group consisting of rubber-tire vents, EPDM scrap material, plastic chips, polyurethane scrap, polyisocyanurate scrap, scrap rubber from recycled tires, wood chips, fiberglass strands and mixtures thereof. A method of re-roofing a roof comprising applying composite boards (10, 20, 30) of the present invention to a roof deck and applying a weather protective layer over the composite boards. A continuous method of making composite recovery boards (10) of the present invention comprises is also provided.

A method and apparatus for using a cryogen for cooling articles, particularly having applications for chilling extrusions, food, and similar articles, utilizing dispersion of liquid cryogen into a feed chamber wherein it is substantially vaporized and then circulated through a cooling chamber containing the article to be cooled. A circulation device can circulate the vaporized cryogen through the cooling chamber, or through the article, at a variably controllable velocity to enhance the cooling efficiency using the principle of forced air convection and to provide improved temperature control in the system.
