Abstract: Methods, systems, apparatuses, and/or computer programs. Mass spectrometer test data (e.g. a blood sample of a medical patient) may be associated with metadata information. The associated metadata information may be associated with the medical patient. A subset of a sample reference library may be based on the associated metadata information. The sample reference library may include a plurality of sets of mass spectrometer reference data, in accordance with embodiments. Embodiments match the mass spectrometer test data with mass spectrometer reference data of the selected subset of the sample reference library. Embodiments determine characteristic information of a source of the mass spectrometer test data (e.g. the medical patient) based on the known characteristics of the matched mass spectrometer reference data.

Abstract: An apparatus and/or method that includes deconvolving a pre-deconvoluted distribution of spectrometry reference profile peaks into at least two post-deconvoluted distributions of spectrometry reference profile peaks. Through this deconvolution, sufficiently narrow probability distribution functions may be attained, which may contribute to diagnostic accuracy. The pre-convoluted distribution of spectrometry reference profile peaks originated from spectrometry reference profiles associated with a first category. The at least two post-deconvoluted distributions of spectrometry reference profile peaks each originated from spectrometry reference profiles each associated with at least two different sub-categories of the first category. For example, the first category may be cancer in general and the at least two sub-categories may be types of cancer. These different types of cancer may be further deconvolved into more subcategories to form a cluster of probability distribution functions, which are meaningful in diagnostic applications.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to an apparatus, method, or computer program. A laser may be configured to irradiate a plurality of laser pulses on a target area to ionize a sample placed in the target area into at least one ionized particle. Electrodes at a first end of a flight tube may be configured to accelerate ionized particles into the flight tube. A detector at a second opposite end of the flight tube may independently measure a time of flight of the ionized particles through the flight tube and an intensity of the ionized particles.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and/or computer program product that matches a treatment profile (e.g. drug treatment at a particular dosage and timeframe) to a sample of biological material (e.g. blood sample, etc.). A mass spectrometry spectrum may be generated from a matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOF MS) device from the testing of a sample of biological material that includes at least one pathogen (e.g. bacteria, microorganism, virus, etc.). This received mass spectrometry spectrum may be matched by a diagnostic unit to determine the species of the pathogen against a species database. The species database may include predetermined mass spectrometry spectrums of known species of pathogens. Based on the matched species of pathogen, a diagnostic unit may match the received mass spectrometry spectrum of the sample of biological material to at least one treatment profile from a second reference database of predetermined mass spectrometry spectrums.
