A player unit plays back recorded contents, that include video contents or AV contents and ENAV contents associated with contents (menu, chapter) of the video contents, from a DVD-Video disc. The video contents of the DVD disc are played back by a video playback engine. The ENAV contents of the DVD disc are played back by an ENAV engine.
