Abstract:
An apparatus for rolling or winding up a web of material with a driven supporting roll on which one or more winding rolls contact during the winding process and with a plurality of press rolls pressable on the circumference of one of the winding rolls which are mounted substantially parallel to the supporting roll axis on an end of at least one upwardly pivoting lever mounted laterally adjacent the supporting roll. The press roll pairs are each mounted on the end of a pivoting lever and their rotation axes are movable about one axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the pivoting lever. Advantageously the press roll pair is also supported movable about a third axis which is approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal shaft of the pivoting lever and extends perpendicular to the rotation axes. Also the pivoting lever can be variable in its length.
Abstract:
A broad drawing apparatus for moving webs of material comprises a roll having a plurality of individual roll sections mounted on shaft sections and a two part thrust bearing for determining the degree of curvature for the two adjacent shaft sections of every two adjacent roll sections. A ball and socket bearing for each shaft section is provided such that the ball and socket bearings of adjacent shaft sections are disposed side by side on opposite sides of the thrust bearing and wherein each thrust bearing part carries one of the adjacent ball and socket bearings.
Abstract:
In a winding machine, the space defined by the support cylinders and the winding rolls is sealed and an overpressure is created in this space to relieve the force with which the winding rolls press against the support cylinders. For the purpose, in the area of the two lateral ends of the support cylinders sealing elements are arranged, which for adjustment to various web widths, are axially displaceable and at the same time can be moved away to an area outside the motion range of guide heads and their mounting. In the sealing position of the sealing elements, a fictional-look connection with the support cylinders is avoided.
Abstract:
The apparatus for automatically cutting and rolling up a sheet of material comprises a winder with a least one feed drum. The winder cuts the sheet of material, advantageously first the winder weakens the sheet of material along a cutting line. Then the sheet is cut through or severed by braking. The beginning of a new sheet formed by the cutting is attached to a new roll core by the winder after ejecting the finished rolled up roll and the beginning of the new sheet of material is held fixed during cutting by vacuum on the outer surface of the feed drum.
Abstract:
In a cutting device of the shearing type comprising two circular blades one of which is in the form of an elastic disc displaceable on a bracket by pressure from a pressure element engaged by a lever, the cutting edge of said blade in the form of an elastic disc being disposed against the cutting edge of the other blade, the improvement wherein said bracket is disposed within a bearing sleeve which in turn is disposed within a bearing of said disc, said bearing sleeve being connected to said lever in an axially inflexible manner, said pressure element disposed adjacent to the cutting area of said blade in the form of an elastic disc and passing a moment into said bearing sleeve and said bearing which is opposed to the moment of any reaction force imposed on said disc in its cutting area.
Abstract:
An improvement in a pressure roller arrangement for a winding machine equipped with a winding roll onto which strip material is wound, the winding roll bearing against a support drum by means of a pair of pressure rollers which act on the winding roll to press the winding roll against a drum support. The application describes such a device in which one of the pressure rollers is connected by a swiveling lever which is supported on a cylinder piston unit and the other pressure roller is pivoted at the swiveling lever by means of a follow-up lever so that it can be moved on the first pressure roller towards and away therefrom by means of a cylinder piston unit which is supported on the swiveling lever.
Abstract:
A device for threading a web of flexible material through the array of rollers of a machine, e.g. a coiler for the web, utilizes an endless guide wire guided over deflection rolls integrated with those web-guide rolls which are located along the underside of the web. The wire-deflection rolls associated with the web-guide rolls along the upper surface of the web are spaced therefrom and have means cooperating with the kite wire attaching the leading end of the web to the guide wire for deflecting the kite wire off these deflecting rolls so that the deflecting rolls can be located centrally of the web-guide path.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for separate winding of longitudinally slit webs 4 and comprising a single support roll 5 and at least two rolls 6 for winding the slit webs, which web rolls have shafts 10 and ride on the support roll 5, the improvement which comprises positioning the web rolls 6 on the upper half of the circumference of the support roll 5 on alternate sides of a vertical plane 7 passing through the axis of said support roll 5, the apparatus including a cross-bar 11, a plurality of web-roll carriages 12 carried by said cross-bar 11 for longitudinal displacement thereon and adapted to be positioned in pairs to the width of the web strips to be wound and hence be aligned with the slits, and load-carrying means 8, 9 of adjustable force disposed on the web-roll carriages 12 and operatively connected with the web-roll shafts 10.
Abstract:
In a machine for the centerless winding of webs (2), including support cylinders (3), a holder (4) for a core on which the web is to be wound, a motor-driven spindle (11) for the axial displacement of the core holder rotatably mounted on a shaft (5) displaceable in a guide (8), (9), and means for limiting the axial length of travel of the core holder, the improvement wherein said travel limiting means includes a control shaft (15) coupled with the drive motor (12) through a step-down gearing (14), (16), a slip coupling (18), (19), (20), trippers (23), (24), for limit switches (25), (26), associated with the drive motor, and a cam (21) in whose path an abutment (22) is disposed, the step-down gearing (14), (16), having such a ratio that no more than one full rotation of the control shaft (15) corresponds to the predetermined length of travel. Thereby even after resetting the winder to a web of different width there will still be the same limits on the axial length of travel of the core holder when replacing cores.
Abstract:
An apparatus for winding material in web form into a roll lying upon two spaced apart driven support cylinders and having a cylindrical roll core. A stand-by roll core is supported between the roll and the supporting cylinders during the winding of the roll by a support member which defines a supporting surface thereon and which is mounted for movement from a non-supporting position to a supporting position wherein the supporting surface lies in a horizontal plane and extends into the area between the supporting cylinders and the roll to such an extent that only one supporting cylinder at a time can be contacted linearly by the stand-by roll core.
