摘要: The present disclosure relates to apparatuses and methods for making tampons including primary and secondary absorbent members. During assembly, primary absorbent members, a continuous length of secondary absorbent members, and a continuous cord are advanced in a machine direction. Leading edges of the primary absorbent members are separated from each other in the machine direction by a pitch distance. Discrete secondary absorbent members are cut from the continuous length of secondary absorbent members. Leading edges of the discrete secondary absorbent members are also separated from each other in the machine direction by the pitch distance. The continuous cord is positioned on a first surface of the secondary absorbent members. And a second surface of a secondary absorbent member is positioned in contact with and in a facing relationship with a primary absorbent member. A thread is sewn through the continuous cord, the secondary absorbent member, and the primary absorbent member.

摘要: A device for processing substrates uses a separation system. Processed substrates can be separated into one or more waste parts and at least one blank. Improved flexibility for treating substrates is provided. The separation system comprises a transport cylinder and a stripping cylinder associated therewith. The transport cylinder has first openings and has a detachably secured packing having depressions in which perforations are formed, with at least one perforation covering at least one first opening. The stripping cylinder has a detachably secured packing having raised areas that correspond to the depressions.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a cleaning member includes a fiber bundle conveying step conveying a fiber bundle to a merging section, a nonwoven fabric conveying step conveying the nonwoven fabric strips to the merging section; a multilayer web forming step forming a multilayer web by overlaying the fiber bundle on the nonwoven fiber strips at the merging part; and a joining step joining the fiber bundle and the nonwoven fabric strips to each other in the multilayer web. In the fiber bundle conveying step, the fiber bundle is conveyed at a tension at which there is no width shrinkage in the fiber bundle, and in the multilayer web forming step, the multilayer web is formed by overlaying the fiber bundle on the nonwoven strips while applying a tension that does not cause width shrinkage in the fiber bundle.

摘要: An apparatus for reducing downtime in processes utilizing continuous webs as a raw material upon the detection of a defective portion in a continuous web includes a defect detection member. The defect detection member detects the defects in the continuous web while a first engaging member can stop or slow the speed of the continuous web upon the detection of the defective portion. A second engaging member can receive the defective portion and separate the defective portion from the continuous web and can attach non-defective portions together. A storage element can provide a contingent amount of the continuous web to any downstream processes while the continuous web is stopped or slowed by the first engaging member.
