摘要: A printer is configured to print on a tape-type print medium. The printer includes a processor and a memory. The memory is configured to store computer-readable instructions that instruct the printer to perform a process including displaying, on a display portion, characters, a block break line, and block numbers in a case where print data include block data and block break data. The block break line is a line segment that indicates a break position between adjacent blocks of a plurality of blocks. Each of the plurality of blocks contains at least one line's worth of characters. The block numbers indicate sequence numbers for the plurality of blocks. The block data is data for the plurality of blocks. The block break data is data that indicate the break position. The plurality of blocks is to be printed in a first direction in which the plurality of blocks are arrayed.

摘要: When a print pattern setting mode is set and a printing apparatus receives print data including object print data from an external device, all arrangement patterns where the object print data is located in each printing areas defined in template data are produced. A setting capability checking process is executed for each arrangement pattern. Preview data is produced for the arrangement patterns where all the object print data can be printed and displayed on a liquid crystal display. When preview data displayed on the liquid crystal display is selected, the arrangement pattern corresponding to the preview data is set to the template data.

摘要: This disclosure provides a printing apparatus which enables a user to adjust easily and appropriately a direction of an image that is to be printed onto a recording object medium. When a user gives instructions for the execution of option printing, a personal computer displays on its monitor an option printing screen 100. The option printing screen 100 indicates print patterns 103a-103d representing states in which an “ABC” character string which constitutes an object image for printing is rotated in each of upward, downward, rightward and leftward directions. If a user selects any one of the print patterns 103a-103d, print data is produced based on an image hat has been rotated corresponding to the pattern. A tape printing apparatus prints onto a tape an image that has been rotated based on print data created by the personal computer and, by cutting a tape that has been discharged onto a tray, produces a label.

摘要: In this invention, the rear ends of the printing needles are bent and prevented from being pulled out by being embedded in needle caps. The needle caps are flat, and the longitudinal directions of the cross-sections of the needle caps are coincident with the radial direction of the printer. The rear ends of the needles are arranged in annular form. Each needle cap is slidably held by a guide body. Lateral displacement of the needles is prevented, and the contacting area between the needle caps and an armature of an electromagnet is reduced. A ring connecting the rear ends of the needles is reduced in size, providing a margin at both sides of the needle cap and armature. The bending amount of the needle is reduced, and the sliding resistance of the needle is reduced, which improves the durability of the needles and the needle guides. Also a small armature may be used, thereby saving on the consumption of power in that an electromagnet of small capacity may be used. The device as a whole is compact, and high-speed printing can be effected.

摘要: The electric apparatus performs time display that is optimal for a user, without need of operations for switching time display by use of the 12-hour system and 24-hor system. In a tape printer, a keyboard section and a CPU are connected to each other via any one of a plurality of solder points A, B, and C. If the solder point is “A” (YES at S103), an hour system flag is set to “OFF” (S105). If the solder point is not “A” (NO at S103), the hour system flag is set to “ON” (S107). If the hour system flag is OFF, a target country (target district) of the keyboard section is “USA”, so that time is displayed in the 12-hour system on a liquid crystal display section, while if the hour system flag is ON, the target country (target district) of the keyboard section is not “USA”, so that time is displayed in the 24-hour system on the liquid crystal display section.
