摘要: A method and resulting device for accurately positioning an array of die modules in an imaging array, including larger partial width arrays and full page width arrays, is described herein. The method includes forming physical reference datum directly on an individual silicon die module, and positioning the individual die modules on a temporary holder. The temporary holder includes an alignment tool and singulated die are placed onto the temporary holder by abutting the physical reference datum against the alignment tool. A vacuum temporarily secures the die positioned on the temporary holder, and a permanent substrate is then attached to the die of the temporary holder. The temporary holder is released in favor of the permanent substrate having the accurately aligned die modules thereon.

摘要: A head module includes lines of head chips, each head chip having energy-generating elements for discharging liquid and electrodes for electrically connecting the energy-generating elements to a control substrate, and a wiring board having wires for electrically connecting the electrodes to the control substrate. The head module drives the energy-generating elements through the wiring board to discharge liquid. The wiring board includes connecting sections connecting the wires to the respective electrodes, common wire sections joining some of the wires that are common to the head chips, and a terminal section connecting the wires to the control substrate at one side of the wiring board. The wires in the connecting and terminal sections are arranged in a single-layer structure along a horizontal direction. The wires in the common wire sections are arranged in a multi-layer structure in which portions of the wires are stacked in the vertical direction.

摘要: In a dot print head of an impact type moved in a direction of spacing movement relative to a printing medium, and having a plurality of printing elements each having a printing wire arranged substantially in an elongated circle centered at a line parallel with the direction in which the printing elements are driven, and which is provided with a wire guide having guide elements for the respective printing wires for guiding tips of the printing wires to predetermined positions on said printing medium, the guide elements are divided into at least four rows each extending in the direction orthogonal to said direction of the spacing movement and orthogonal to the direction in which the printing wires extend, and distances between said rows are multiples of 1/240 inches. Each of the printing elements is driven for printing either at a reference timing which occurs once a standard printing cycle having a standard period, at a timing 1/4 of the standard period past said reference timing, at a timing half the standard period past said reference timing, or at a timing 3/4 of the standard period past said reference timing.
