    摘要: An exterior element sensor can include an optical element mounted on a window. The optical element can include a cylindrical lens having both ends shaped spherically and a central portion that exerts little or no influence on exterior element detection (such as rain, snow, ice, water, liquid, debris, or other materials) when visible light transmits therethrough. In addition, infrared or other light can be used to detect exterior elements located on the window. A black filter can be employed, if desired, which blocks visible light and transmits infrared light therethrough to separate visible light from infrared light, thereby allowing the exterior element sensor to be used together with an exterior light sensor without losing accuracy.

    摘要: An optical droplet sensor can include a light emitter, a light receiver and a light guide, and can be adhered onto an inner surface of a windshield via a light transmissive adhesive layer. The light guide can include a light entry surface and a light exit surface formed of respective convex-shaped arbitrary curved surfaces, a light entry/exit surface formed of a flat plane, and a reflecting surface that can be made of a metal film. The light emitted from the light emitter is given an optimized light distribution at the light entry surface and introduced into the light guide. The light is then reflected from the metal film-applied reflecting surface toward an outer surface of the windshield. The light totally reflected at the outer surface returns to the light exit surface and is given an optimized light distribution at the light exit surface. The light is then externally transmitted/released from the light guide and collected on a light-receiving surface of the light receiver.

    摘要: A car air conditioner is free from the problem of insufficient and frustrating defrosting effect of a conventional air conditioner that becomes apparent when wet air is blown onto the misted front window pane of the car in a rainy season by selecting a defroster position on the outlet vent selection switch of the air conditioner. In the control circuit of the air conditioner, the defroster contact 2a of the outlet vent selection switch 2 is connected to a pulse shaping circuit 9 for generating a pulse whenever selected and the pulse shaping circuit 9 is by turn connected to the reset terminal PR of a D flip-flop circuit 8, while the inverted output terminal Q2 of the D flip-flop circuit 8 is connected to an AC relay 5 by way of a NOR-gate 10 that calculates the logical sum of the logical value "L" generated when the compressor contact 3a of flow rate control switch 3 is closed. Thus, when the flow rate control switch 3 is closed and the defroster contact 2a of the outlet vent selection switch 2 is selected, the circuit automatically drive the compressor to solve the problem.
