    摘要: In a starting operation of a pump or a pump turbine with high head and large capacity, adjustable guide vanes are fully closed and compressed air is introduced within the runner casing to depress water around the runner. When the runner begins to rotate at a synchroous speed, the guide vanes are excessively opened to an over opening position where no reverse flow of the discharge flow occurs. After the stream of the discharge flow becomes steady, the guide vanes are moved conversely to a predetermined opening position where the maximum flow rate of the pump is obtained with low noise and low vibration.The present invention relates to a starting operation for a pump or a pump turbine with adjustable guide vanes circumferencially arranged around the runner, and more particularly to a starting operation for a pump or a pump turbine which is operated by controlling the opening of the adjustable guide vanes.

    摘要: Prior to bringing a fluid machine to the condition of spinning reserve for practicing a phase modifier operation or for producing a so-called standby condition which permits immediate switch-over to a power-generating or pumping-up operation, the water level in a runner chamber is forced down by supplying compressed air, and then the runner is driven to rotate in compressed air atmosphere. In this process, the water in a casing is gradually discharged at a rate which is commensurate with the rate of supply of the compressed air so as to thereby prevent leaking of the water in the casing from a guide vane.

    摘要: The operation of a variable speed electric driven pump turbine is monitored continuously during pumping to detect the operation point of the pump turbine, and to prevent it from falling into a hump characteristic region, which is recognizable on a graph of total dynamic head versus flow rate. Stalling occurs in the hump characteristic region as a result of a partial reverse flow of the water with respect to the runner. When the operation point of the pump turbine approaches the hump characteristic region, a corrective action is taken that includes increasing the output level of the electric driven pump turbine to increase its rotating speed, temporarily.

    摘要: A furnace for the formation of a black oxide film on the surface of a thin metal sheet is disclosed which comprises a tunnel-like furnace proper provided at one terminal side thereof with an inlet and at the other terminal side thereof with an outlet, conveying means laid inside the furnace proper from the inlet through the outlet thereof for conveying a thin metal sheet from the inlet to the outlet, openable shutter means for partitioning the interior of the furnace proper into at least first and second regions on the front and rear sides respectively in the direction of conveyance of the thin metal sheet, first gas supply means for feeding into the first region on the inlet side of the furnace proper partitioned by the shutter means a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide and containing substantially no oxygen or a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and steam and containing substantially no oxygen, second gas supply means for feeding into the second region on the outlet side of the furnace proper partitioned by the shutter means a mixed gas containing carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and oxygen and containing substantially no steam, and heating means for heating the first region to a temperature in the range of 500.degree. to 650.degree. C. and the second region to a temperature in the range of 100.degree. to 300.degree. C.

    摘要: An end face mechanical shaft seal for use in a hydraulic machine includes a seal ring assembly detachably secured to a seal casing and having a sealing face which makes a sliding and fluid-tight contact with an annular seat face presented by a flange on the rotor shaft. The seal ring assembly is of a cartridge type which includes a ring casing having an annular groove formed in one end surface thereof and a seal ring partly received in the groove and fixed to the ring casing by an adhesive.     摘要: An outer cylinder (18) is coaxially disposed around an inner cylinder (12). The lower ends of the cylinders (12), (18) are closed but communicate with each other and are mechanically connected to an axle of a wheeled vehicle. A piston (13) is sealingly slidable in the inner cylinder (12) and is connected via a piston rod (14) to a frame of the vehicle. The rod (14) extends upwardly through a rod guide (17) which closes the upper end of the inner cylinder (12). A seal (24) disposed above the rod guide (17) closes the upper end of the outer cylinder (18). The inner cylinder (12) and lower portion of the outer cylinder (18) are filled with liquid which damps movement of the piston (13) caused by irregularities in the road surface. The upper portion of the outer cylinder (18) is filled with compressed air. An annular check valve (63) is disposed in a passageway (56) leading from a space ( 26) between the rod guide (17) and seal (24) to the upper portion of the outer cylinder (18). The check valve (63) allows flow of liquid and entrained air from the upper portion of the outer cylinder (12) to the upper portion of the outer cylinder (18) but not in the reverse direction and comprises a base (63a) which is fittingly retained in a groove (17b) formed in an upper end of the rod guide (17). A resilient edge portion (63b) of the check valve (63) extends upwardly into sealing engagement with a spring seat (62) which engages with a lower end of the seal (24). A compression spring (64) disposed between the spring seat (62) and base portion (63a) of the check valve (63) presses the spring seat (62) against the seal (24) and presses the base portion (63a) of the valve (63) against the rod guide (16).
