    摘要： A system and method for time synchronization between multimedia content and segment metadata. Time synchronization system of the present invention includes a content processor receiving and storing multimedia content containing first segment time information; a metadata processor receiving and storing segment metadata for the content containing second segment time information; a synchronizer extracting the first segment time information from the multimedia content and the second segment time information from the metadata in response to a request of a user, determining respective reference time points from the first and second extracted segment time information, correcting a relative time point of the content using a difference between the determined reference time points, and synchronizing the received content and metadata using the corrected relative time point; and a content segment browser forwarding the content segment request signal to the synchronizer and reproducing a plurality of segments of the content synchronized by the synchronizer.

    摘要： A transcoding system and method effectively synchronize segmentation metadata with A/V content when converting an MPEG stream to another format stream using a segment browser. The transcoding system includes a timing synchronizer, which adjusts the timing parameters so that the video data can be synchronized with segmentation metadata even after the transcoding process, a transcoding condition determiner, which determines transcoding conditions suitable for an end user environment, and an encoder, which compresses a video sequence reconstructed from the video data according to the transcoding conditions determined by the transcoding condition determiner and records a presentation time stamp, which is one of the adjusted timing parameters, in the compressed video sequence.

The method for recommending content includes creating a user profile according to a predetermined model based on a user's reaction to the content, obtaining content features from one or more data sources, and creating a list of recommended contents according to a predetermined process based on the user profile and the content features. The system for recommending content includes a user profiling module that creates user profiles according to a predetermined model based on a user's reaction to the content, a digital television module that obtains content metadata from one or more data sources, and a content rating module that creates a list of recommended contents based on the user profile and the content metadata received from the user profiling module and the digital television module. The user can be given recommendations of contents similar to what he/she likes.
