    Abstract: A cutting tool includes a cutting head and a tool shank, each having an axial abutment surface. One of the two includes a coupling pin, while the other includes a pin receptacle and a clamping through bore that opens out to the pin receptacle. The coupling pin has an engagement groove and the pin receptacle has an engagement ridge. The coupling pin is received into the pin receptacle. The cutting head and tool shank are releasably attached together by a fastening member that passes through the clamping through bore and acts on the coupling pin so that the engagement groove abuts the engagement ridge and the axial abutment surfaces on each part abut each other.

    Abstract: A rotary cutting tool has an insert receiving pocket with a cutting insert removably secured therein and an adjustment recess rearward thereof having a radially outward facing recess side surface and an adjustment tongue spaced apart therefrom by a first inner passage. The adjustment tongue extends rearwardly from a tongue root to a tongue tip and includes a tongue through bore. The tongue root has a shoulder surface facing in the forward direction and the cutting insert is in contact with the shoulder surface. An adjustment screw extends through the tongue through bore and engages the recess side surface, and rotation of the adjustment screw causes axial displacement of the cutting insert in a forward direction. An imaginary straight line in the first inner passage intersects a recess rear end surface formed on a first body sub-portion of the cutting body which is integrally formed with the adjustment tongue.

    Abstract: A double-ended parting cutting insert. The cutting insert includes two cutting portions at opposite ends thereof which are oriented at 90° to each other. The cutting insert includes a pair of rake and support engagement grooves, the rake and support engagement grooves of each one of the pair converging in a direction away from a respective cutting portion. An insert holder includes a clamping portion having a resilient upper clamping jaw having an upper engagement ridge and a lower base jaw having a lower engagement ridge. A gap therebetween forms an insert receiving slot that has a slot opening. The upper and lower engagement ridges converge in a direction away from the slot opening. When the cutting insert is releasably attached to the insert holder, to constitute a fastened position of a cutting tool, the cutting insert is located in the insert receiving slot and resiliently clamped therein.
