    Abstract: What is disclosed is a blade core for attachment with an endless chain assembly. The blade core is a generally circular disc having two opposing faces and a width between the faces. The blade core has a circumferential groove extending inward from the circumference of the blade core such that the drive links, or the tang of the drive links, extends from the chain located on the circumference of the circular disc inward in said groove. Ideally the width of the groove is proximate to the width of the drive link such that friction between the sides of the groove and the drive link prevent the chain from rotating along the circumference of the circular disc when the blade core and endless chain assembly are rotating to cut a material. Ideally the base of tie-strap-tie strap and tie strap-cutter assembly is the same as width of the rail to restrict lateral movement.

    Abstract: A slot-milling tool includes a slot-milling insert to be on-edge mounted to a toolholder of the slot-milling tool. The insert includes a first side surface, a second side surface, and a plurality of edge surfaces between the first and second side surfaces, each edge surface intersecting with another edge surface at a corner and forming a cutting edge. The first and second side surfaces each have a side insert supporting surface for abutting against an abutment surface in a toolholder, and the insert has reflective symmetry about a central plane extending through the edge surfaces midway between the first and second side surfaces. A chipbreaker is provided on each edge surface and corresponds to each cutting edge, and each chipbreaker includes a recess beneath the cutting edge and a portion projecting toward the cutting edge, the projecting portion defining first and second chip deflecting recesses between the projecting portion and the first and second side surfaces, respectively.

    Abstract: A family of rotating cutting tools includes at least two toolholders having different diameters, each toolholder including a first side and a second side, the first side and the second side being substantially perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the toolholder, and at least one insert abutment surface on each of the first side and the second side, the insert abutment surfaces on the first side and the second side of each toolholder being substantially mirror images of each other, and the insert abutment surfaces on each of the first side and the second side of each toolholder being substantially identical to the insert abutment surfaces on each other one of the at least two toolholders, and a plurality of identical inserts mounted on each of the at least two toolholders, each insert having a first side surface, a second side surface, and a plurality of edge surfaces between the first and second side surfaces, each edge surface intersecting with another edge surface at a corner and forming a cutting edge, wherein the first and second side surfaces each have a side insert supporting surface for abutting against one of the abutment surfaces. For each toolholder, the insert abutment surfaces on the first and second sides define an angle with a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the toolholder, and the angle defined by the insert abutment surfaces and the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the toolholder is different for the at least two toolholders having different diameters.

    Abstract: A disc saw blade includes a saw chain mounted around the circumference of a circular disk, which saw chain is provided with driving links, connecting links and cutting links. Due to the driving links, the chain is guided in at least one chain groove arranged around the periphery of the disk. The bottom of the groove has radial projections distributed around the circumference, and the driving link has a cam surface on a projecting part that projects radially inwards, for interaction with the respective radial projection. The chain can move from a neutral position, in which the respective projecting part is loosely disposed between two adjacent radial projections, to a working position, in which the respective cam surfaces are in contact with the associated radial projections.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a disc saw blade (2) with a saw chain (12) mounted around the circumference of a circular disk (4), which saw chain (12) is provided with driving links (6), connecting links (8) and cutting links (10).
