Abstract:
A waveguide component for use in microwave range or in quasimillimeter wave range such as, for instance, a frequency multiplier or a frequency down converter. The waveguide component comprises a strip line element functioning as an antenna for resonating at least two electromagnetic waves having different frequencies and a semiconductor element of which one end is connected to the strip line. Both the strip line and the semiconductor element are provided onto a dielectric base plate by means of printing circuit technique. The dielectric base plate is mounted in a waveguide in a manner that the strip line element extends parallel to a high frequency electric field in the waveguide. The waveguide component having above construction is able to be miniaturized by the elimination of the conventional tuning circuit elements and due to its improved semiconductor mounting it is suitable to be used in quasi-millimeter wave range.
Abstract:
AS A MATERIAL FOR A POROUS LAYER OF A SECONDARY ELECTRON MULTIPLIER USED FOR INSTANCE IN A SECONDARY ELECTRON CONDUCTIVE TYPE CAMERA TUBE OR A SECONDARY ELECTRON MULTIPLIER TUBE, IT IS DESIRABLE TO USE A METAL OXIDE SUCH AS MAGNESIUM OXIDE, ALUMINUM OXIDE OR THE LIKE, WHICH IS CHEMICALLY AND PHYSICALLY STABLE. HOWEVER, IN GENERAL, A METAL OXIDE HAS CONSIDERABLY HIGH EVAPORATION TEMPERATURE SO THAT VACUUM EVAPORATION UNDER LOW VACUUM OF SUCH OXIDE IS DIFFICULT. IN THE METHOD OF THE INVENTION BY UTILIZING AN EUTECTIC PHENOMENON OF SUCH METAL OXIDE WITH SECONDARY ELECTRON EMISSIVE SUBSTANCES HAVING COMPARATIVELY LOW EVAPORATION TEMPERATURE AND BEING A NATURE OF EASINESS OF DEPOSITION UNDER LOW VACUUM, IT IS EASILY ACHIEVED TO EVAPORATE SUCH A METAL OXIDE UNDER LOW VACUUM. THUS A SUPERIOR POROUS LAYER FOR USE FOR INSTANCE IN A SECONDARY ELECTRON MULTIPLIER CAN BE FORMED, WHICH DOES NOT LOSE THE POROUS PROPERTY IN A SUCCEEDING HEAT TREATMENT DURING THE PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING A MULTIPLIER TUBE.

Abstract:
A carrier converting equipment to be used such as for the reception of a satellite television broadcasting signal by an ordinary television receiver by adding a very simple adapter for converting such satallite signal for instance a frequency modulated microwave signal into an amplitude modulated VHF wave signal. The frequency modulated receiving input wave is amplitude modulated by an amplitude modulation adding circuit in which the wave is modulated for instance to have larger amplitude at the higher frequency portion and smaller amplitude at the lower frequency portion. This amplitude modulated wave is supplied to a non-linear element together with a desired carrier frequency signal. The carrier frequency signal is amplitude modulated in accordance with the amplitude of the applied amplitude modulated signal due to conductance variation of the non-linear element.
Abstract:
A compensation system for a light beam scanning system having a polygonal mirror comprising simple optical systems, each of which focuses in one azimuth direction, such as a cylindrical lens, being inserted in both light paths of the incident and reflective sides of the reflection or deflection point of the polygonal mirror, to one another, and being arranged so as to converge the output light beam from said optical systems in the direction perpendicular to the scanning direction of said light beam in such a way that the light beam has an elliptical section at said deflection point of said polygonal mirror, even if the tilt of mirror surface to the rotating axis of said polygonal mirror occurs.
