    摘要: In a document transport apparatus for feeding document sheets over a copier platen with a reversible direction of motion document feeding belt with a normal-force pressure system for applying pressure to an area of the back of the lower belt flight, mounted to engage and be moved by the belt, which pressure is automatically substantially greater for one direction of motion of the belt than the other, the improvement comprising apparatus for applying a preset maximum gravitational force with the pressure system actuated solely by engagement and movement of the pressure system by the lower belt flight in one direction, and further apparatus for counteracting that gravitational force automatically in response to the reversal of direction of the belt flight to greatly reduce the applied pressure in the reversed direction of motion of the belt flight, wherein a disclosed pressure system is an integral arm/roller unit with a variable axis of rotation about a fixed pivot by means of a limited slot connection therewith and a cooperative rotational stop, providing free vertical but restricted rotational movement of the pressure system in one direction of belt movement, and vertical retention but free rotational movement in the other direction of belt movement.

    摘要: An apparatus for maintaining the outermost surface of a stack of sheets at a selected elevation of the type having a stacking tray for holding the stack, a drive system adapted to move the tray, a position sensor for detecting the position of the outermost sheet of the stack, and a drive controller for controlling the drive system in response to signals received from the position sensor. The drive controller utilizing signals generated by a travel limit sensor, whereby the sensor indicates, with an active signal, the presence of the stacking tray at either a first or a second travel limit position. The drive controller further utilizing signals generated by a motion sensor, whereby the sensor signal is indicative of displacement of the stacking tray. The apparatus further including a sensor actuating apparatus, operatively connected to the stacking tray, for actuating the travel limit and motion sensors. The sensor actuating apparatus including means for actuating the travel limit sensor when the stacking tray is in either a first or a second travel limit position. The sensor actuating apparatus further including means for periodically actuating the motion sensor in response to movement of the stacking tray, thereby causing the motion sensor to generate a signal indicative of movement of the stacking tray.

    摘要: A small plug-in module includes a combined housing and heat sink, and plug-in terminals cooperating with mating terminals on a chassis. The module includes guiding structure to facilitate insertion of the module on the chassis, which may also form terminals for providing a ground connection to the module. The module includes an electronic circuit with components, at least one of which develops substantial heat, such as a transistor. The components are positioned on a substrate which is mounted in heat conducting relation on the base of the housing. The base and/or sides of the housing are constructed to provide sufficient mass to dissipate the heat developed by the components. The housing-heat sink may have recesses into which spring inserts are placed to resiliently engage pins extending from the chassis to guide the module into position and provide a ground connection thereto. Alternatively, terminal pins can be secured to the heat sink to engage sockets on the chassis. A header is provided on the module from which plug-in contacts extend for connection to sockets on the chassis, to connect the circuit of the module to the chassis. The guiding of the module by the grounding pins facilitates the engagement of the more fragile plug-in contacts.

    摘要: A push-push lamp socket having a socket member (2) into which a conventional lamp bulb (28) can be mounted by a first axial push and released by a second axial push for removal. In a first version, a cylindrical socket member (2) has four entry recesses (W,N,E,S) or grooves for receiving the radial lugs (24,26) of a conventional lamp bulb in either of two ninety degree orientations (W,E or N,S) and a horizontal groove (4) having slopes (16, 38) leading to pockets (30,40) on its inward and outward sides for latching the bulb lugs (24,26) in response to a first push and disengagement. Additional slopes (42,46) and pocket (44) control the lugs on a second push and disengagement to rotate the bulb lugs into the recesses (N,S) for release from the socket. A second version of lamp socket (50) has a pair of slots (76,78) in its sides, each having a sloping edge (82) and a resilient snap finger (84) providing tactile and audible signals when the bulb (28) follows cam edges or slopes (96 and 100 or 98 and 102) as it is pushed in, and an outwardly sloping track (88) on the finger (84) for guiding the lug (24) under the force of a connector spring (72) into a latch pocket (92). On the second push, an inwardly sloping surface (94) on the finger (84) returns the lug (24) for release of the bulb from the socket. A polarized modification has bulb lugs (112,114) and socket slots (76,120) at different levels for two-filament lamp bulbs.
