摘要: A method to prepare nonwoven webs which have good MD and CD strength, and are water disposable is provided. The method includes hydroentangling an airlaid web of no less than 50% by weight of natural cellulose fibers having a fiber length of no more than 3.5 mm and no more than 50% by weight staple fibers having a fiber length of no less than 8.0 mm. The airlaid web is not laid on a precursor web and no adhesive, binder or thermal bonding fibers are utilized. The airlayering and hydroentangling are conducted in a continuous operation. Products may be obtained according to the method of this invention that meet municipal guidelines for flushability.

摘要: A nonwoven web, containing at least one first homogeneous layer consisting of a blend of at least one of defibrated natural plant based fibers, individualized natural plant based fibers and staple fibers is provided. The nonwoven web contains no binder, adhesive or thermal bonding fibers and a basis weight of the at least one homogeneous layer is from 20 g/m2 to 100 g/m2. When a weighted average fiber length of the at least one of defibrated natural plant based fibers, individualized natural plant based fibers and staple fibers is greater than about 4.0 mm, the nonwoven web is a non-dispersible product which does not meet the requirement for dispersibility in accordance with INDA/EDANA GD4, and when a weighted average fiber length of the at least one of defibrated natural plant based fibers, individualized natural plant based fibers and staple fibers is less than about 4.0 min, the nonwoven web is a dispersible product as defined in accordance with INDA/EDANA GD4. Methods to prepare the nonwoven web are provided.

摘要: A method to prepare nonwoven webs suitable for use as an industrial wipe which have good MD and CD strength is provided. The method includes hydroentangling an airlaid web of natural cellulose fibers having a fiber length of no more than 3.5 mm, bonding fibers having a fiber length of from 6.0 to 12.0 mm and optionally, manmade fibers having a fiber length of from 6.0 to 12.0 mm. The airlaid web is a homogeneous mat of the natural cellulose fibers, the optional manmade fibers and the bonding fibers and is not laid on a precursor web. No non-fiber adhesive or binder is utilized. The airlayering and hydroentangling are conducted in a continuous operation. The method to manufacture the nonwoven web may include an embossing or crepeing operation.

摘要: A fabric comprising a plurality of textile fibres, wherein said plurality of fibres comprises fibres that have been selected from two groups of fibres. The first group of fibres comprises multiple fibres having a first average length, and the second group of fibres comprises multiple fibres having a second average length, the first average length being shorter than the second average length. Further, the fibres of the first group have a first length variance being greater than a second length variance of the fibres of the second group. Thereby, the elongation properties of the fabric is changed in respect of the cross direction of the fabric, whilst maintaining almost unchanged strength in the longitudinal direction at a low basis weight. The elongation properties include a controlled reduction in the cross-directional tensile strength and a corresponding increase in cross-directional elongation, whilst still providing enough cover and longitudinal direction strength for the material to be made and formed in industrial processes. Thus, the extension profile may be said to be engineered when using fibres of different average lengths in a fabric as disclosed. Further, the possibility of controlling the average lengths of fibres through the right selection of groups of fibres provides a possibility of engineering the strength in detail. More specifically, according to the present invention, a weakness is engineered in the cross direction, whereby the maximum elongation length in said cross direction is increased compared to a conventional and comparable fabric not comprising groups of fibres selected according to the invention.

摘要: A non-woven functional core cover for use in combination with an absorbent core, where said functional core cover comprises at least a first fraction comprising lyocell fibres, and characterised in that a majority of said fibres are oriented in the same direction. Thus, the absorbent core cover may be considered an absorbent article component. Thereby, a functional core cover having improved wicking properties and improved wet integrity is realised, the advantages allowing reducing the amount of fluff used in the mix with SAP. A reduction of material used in the absorbent core improves the feeling of wearing the absorbent product, e.g. a baby diaper, which in turn facilitate the movement of the baby. The wicking properties cause liquid to be distributed better across the surface of the core cover, such that more of the absorbent core is exposed to the expelled liquid.
